Provider: Well, I have checked all your medical reports properly. However, I want to
listen to all the problems and symptoms that you have faced during your cancer
diagnosis. What happened to you these days?
Patient: I am suffering from frequent pain in the head. My weight has drastically reduced
since the diagnosis (Bradbury & Angibaud, 2010). I am really stressed and in depression after
the diagnosis of the Leukaemia or blood cancer.
Provider: When did it start?
Patient: I am facing this problem for the last two weeks. My problem started one month
after the diagnosis.
Provider: What really happened to you that have promoted you to come here
hurriedly?
Patient: Yesterday after having dinner at 9.pm I went to bed at around 10.30. After going to
my head started painting and I was feeling stressed out. Then the pain transmitted from the
head to other parts of the body. I took the SOS medication but it did not recover my health.
Provider: Do you have any other symptoms similar to this pain? Like unusual rashes,
vomiting?
Patient Sometimes after I take the medication I feel like I am going to vomit. After vomiting,
I feel very weak and have no strength left in my body (Hendren & Fiscella, 2014).
Provider: How long this vomiting tendency in initiated. Did the doctor prescribe any
management strategy or a change in lifestyle for this?
Patient: It has initiated after starting the medication for the cure of cancer. The doctor said
that there will be side effects of the medicines which are given to cure the disease. He said to
lead a healthy life with a healthy diet. He also prescribes not to over think the situation and
they are doing their level best to cure the disease.
Provider: Do you deeply think about your disease more often which may be having
some psychological effect?
Patient: After I was diagnosed with cancer I went into trauma and mental set back. I was
very much depressed and thought that I would not live for long. Slowly my health

deteriorated. The doctor said that my blood needed to be transfused. I was very scared and it
might cause the psychological and physical problem to me. I searched the internet for the
possible cure of the blood cancer. It should trough stem cell replacement it can be treated by
the cost of this treatment is huge and beyond my budget (Maack, 2017).
Provider: What kind of help do you want from me?
Patient: I want professional advice from you. I want to know can I manage this situation.
What will be the possible management strategies I can take to overcome the situation?
Provider: First of all the stress and anxiety level should be reducing. Motivation must be
generated by you. Proper diet with high iron content should be taken so that the hemoglobin
should of the blood not decrease. The anemic condition is one of the main problems due to
which the body becomes weak. If any medication causes any sort of side effects then
immediate consultation should be done.
Patient: How Will I relax and lead a normal lifestyle?
Provider: If stress and depression are faced then the psychologist might be consulted. The
most important is family support. The physiological main mental pain everything needed to
be shared with the family (Mooney, 2007).
Patient: When will come back for another visit?
Provider: The suggestion I have given need to be followed. I can come whenever you face
any difficulty in the near future.
