INTRODUCTION
Cancer Research UK is cancer awareness and research organization which focuses on
reducing the death caused by cancer and aware the people about the cancer situation. It is
founded in 2002 at London, UK. The organization researches to find the cure and provide
treatment of the disease. Institutes, Hospitals, and universities of the UK included in which
research has been carried out.

WORKSTREAMS
As the main aim of Cancer Research UK is preventing cancer and beat cancer sooner for its
few policies are made and initiated by the organization which benefits their campaign. The
policies are as follows:
The organization ensures that cancer diagnosed quickly and early which helps the
patient to beat cancer and early diagnosing is the agenda of the organization as well
(Rampling et al., 2016).
The organization makes sure that the patients with cancer can have the best
treatment early as possible including surgeries which reduce the risk for them.
The organization tries making UK smoke and tobacco-free by making people
understand the drawbacks of Tobacco which is the main cause of cancer.
The organization observes the unhealthy behavior which causes bad diet which
leads to cancer (Johnson et al., 2015).
The organization ensures that the country must have the important skills and
modern facilities which are required to treat cancer as well as conduct and finish
world-class research.
The organization works with the government and that helps them to continue their mission
and achieve their objective sooner and effectively. Following are the policies which are
made with respect to government:
The organization with the government, plan to develop a strategy for reducing
drinking and minimizing the risk of cancer (Haviland et al., 2013).
With the government help, organization increase awareness of the threats caused by
the sun and UV and motivates for safer activities.
Organization and government of UK research on the lifestyle and behaviors of the
people which helps them to prevent cancer (Steyerberg et al., 2013).

ACHIEVEMENTS
From the past 40 years or so the rate of death caused by cancer is significantly dropped as
when the earlier only quarter amount of people survive from cancer but in 2018 the rate is
doubled now half of the cancer patients are surviving and organization focus on to make it
rate quarter and the half in the next 10 years (Loveday et al., 2011).
135000 people saved from cancer in the past year.
£35m spent on the researches.
An initiated tobacco control program which helps as the rate of people smoked
decreased to below 16%.
Funded 53 new research projects which include a £5 million international project as
well (Smith et al., 2011).
The campaign is confident that 4 out of 10 cases are prevented by spreading
awareness of cancer through tobacco and alcohol.
AREAS OF CONCERNS
There are a few challenges which cancer research UK facing. Overcome these challenges
significantly helps the organization to enhance their research (Wang et al., 2011). The
challenges are as follows:
Can the organization unravel accurately as for how immunotherapies will work
which benefits many people?
Can the organization accurately find out why faulty genes cause cancer in only some
special parts of the human body?
Can the organization find out the perfect combination of medicines to treat cancer
patients?
Can Organization differentiate which cancer is lethal and cause more harm and

Cancer Research UK is a private organization and generates funds through donations made
by people and other organizations (De Castro et al., 2013). As Cancer Research the UK is a
private organization but as the nature of their organization government closely observed
their activities. Organization starts campaigns for cancer awareness and around 400
candidates already signed up for it.
Economic Factors
Cancer research mainly relies on the donation from the organizations or investors or from
the general public (Burn et al., 2011). They have two key reasons for accepting donations
as first they aim to maintain independent without the interference of government or any
other organization and second, to provide the best support and medical aid to the needy
ones anytime and anywhere. The donation is the main factor for the services provided by
the organization as regular donation makes the service more effective and vice-versa.
Social Factors
As they work for the wellbeing of human beings and their researches helps mankind that
makes them pretty much socially as the organization met the social requirements (Walters
et al., 2013). Non-profit activity taken into consideration in certain society.
Technological Factor
To overcome the situation of cancer and achieve the aim of cancer-free UK it is necessary to
get the help of the modern technologies as they significantly help to reduce the risks as well
as help in the cancer treatments (Smith et al., 2011). The development of various machines
helps to treat different diseases including cancer. Proper utilization of modern technologies
not only helps the organization but also makes a significant difference in society.

funds is always a big threat.
Youths strongly addicted to alcohol and tobacco which is hard to contain and
achieve organization goal.

The main objective of the organization is to reduce death by cancer but lack of funds and
threats of overtaking by the government by which organization can no longer work
independently hurt the plans of the organization (Steyerberg et al., 2013). The organization
needs to gather more support and find different sources of generating funds without
hurting their plans and aims.
