Introduction
The most leading newspaper of Australia was named as Canterbury Australia Newspaper which
is the part of the Canterbury Group. It offers international, national and local news of Australia.
Currently, the news was published on the system that was based on paper. This maintains the
overall news, blogs, articles and the reports related to the present conditions in Australia. This
process was taking more time that why administrators were planning to reduce these time
complexities and the duplication of news for completing the tasks with the latest online
features (Jaspal, et al, 2016).
So, for analyzing these features, the spiral methodology was used for the further development
of Australian Newspaper with the documentation standards ISO/IEC/AS.
The scope of this designed document is to remove the system that was based on the papers
and implement the web application as user-friendly with the latest features.
The main objective of this documentation is to implement the newest or the latest features for
the e-newspapers. The administrator wants to remove or reduce the duplication and make the
web application as user-friendly with the latest and the newest features.
This template was designed for the Australian newspaper company named as Canterbury
Australia Newspaper. This company will offer international, national and local news of Australia.
Earlier, the news was published based on paper format. But nowadays, the administrators want
to reduce the duplication of news by the newest or the latest online features.

b. Discuss the scope and documentation structure with the client for validation
and provide the outcomes.
The scope of implementing the web application is to fulfill the user requirements with their
needs and their policies. All requirements were completed by the technical team of the
organization. Earlier, the organization publishes its news on the paper-based system. This news
was can be international, national and local. They maintain the news, blogs, reports, and
articles based on paper format. But as per the client needs and the requirements, the
administrator needs to implement the overall process on an online basis, that’s why the web
application was designed to make easy for the end users.
It will be beneficial for the end users because it will reduce the time complexity and the
duplication of the news. The application was designed with the newest and the latest online
designed features.
In the overall documentation, the introductory part was defined with the proper defined
information. In this documentation, the overall discussion about the application needs to be
designed for reducing the duplication generated of the news, blogs, articles and the report
analysis (Eskenazi, et al, 2017).
In the first part, the scope and the objectives were also discussed with the proper
documentation of the template. In this, the spiral methodology was used for developing the
complete structure of the application. For gathering information there are some methods used
such as interviews, questionnaires, and the meetings conducted with the end users or the
clients.
In the next part, for better understanding the complete implementation of this web application,
the class diagram was designed by considering the overall requirements with the static
functions and the fields. For better implementation of the application, the different types of
connections were used between users and the staff members of the organization. In this, the
sequence diagram and the state diagram were also designed. Sequence diagram was also called
a network diagram and the state diagram is called an activity diagram.
In the online documentation, the computer uses such type of technologies such as the internet,
helping files, multimedia, and CD / DVD. The main purpose of implementing this application is
to make better communication between end users and staff members. All provided information
depended on the team specialist such as data analyst, writer, programmer, and the tester.

c. Consult with the client to identify requirements and problems using
appropriate information gathering method e.g. interview, questionnaire or
meeting with clients or end users.
For gathering the requirements for designing or the implementing the web application there
are some methods that were used such as questionnaire, interviews and the meetings with the
clients or the end users.
Interview: Interview is the conversation formation where the questions were asked, and the
answers were given for the precise questions. It is the one to one conversation process where
the interviewer will ask the questions and the interviewee will answer the questions.
The questionnaire is also just like an interview, in this method, one person will ask the
questions and the other person will give the answer to that question (Jeong, et al, 2016).
For gathering the requirements, meeting with the clients or end users will be held for getting
the proper information to make a better web application for them like a user-friendly
application.

In the above diagram, it shows the work breakdown structure of the newspaper organization
named as Canterbury Australia Newspaper. It was designed for the web application with the
fulfillment of the requirements of clients or the end users. It was divided into different phases
such as project planning, analyzing of the project, project design, project implementation,
testing and the documentation (Pellerin & Perrier, 2018).

In the above figure, it shows the Gantt chart of implementing the web application for the
organization named as Canterbury Australia Newspaper. For designing the Gantt chart of the
web application, the spiral methodology was used in it. The complete project was divided into
different phases. It was helpful for developing the web application because it will take less time
to complete with the defined structure.

d. Class diagram for the Proposed System.

Basically, the class diagram is the type of UML diagram that describes the fixed structure
diagram by showing classes of the system. It consists of various attributes, methods or
operations and the relationship between various entities (Fergie, et al, 2018).
In the above diagram, the class diagram was designed for the proposed system of the leading
newspaper of Australia named as Canterbury Australia Newspaper which is the part of the
Canterbury Group. In this, there are three entities were defined that is staff, users and the
article. There are some staff members in the organization for the newspapers. There was a
reporter who gathers the news of international, national and the local areas. News such as in
the form of articles.
This shows the chain between staff members, article and the end users or the clients. Each
entity consists of many attributes such as:
Staff: Staff ID, Staff Name, Staff number, and the Staff email id.
Article: Article ID, Article title, Article publishing date, and the Article author.
User: User ID, User Name, User Number, and the User Email ID.

In this, articles were maintained by the staff members and the user will be able to read the
articles. Each has their own relationship with each other. And all these were connected with the
unique id.
e. State Diagram and Sequence Diagram

The state diagram is also called an Activity diagram. It is the part of UML diagrams which will be
used for modeling the dynamic or changeable nature of a system. It will define the different
types of states of the objects during the overall scenarios. All these states were changed by the

events that were created by the reactive system. For the state diagram, it requires an infinite
count of states for the proposed system (Felderer & Herrmann, 2015).
In the above diagram, it shows the events or the activities that were performed for
implementing the complete web application. In this, the user has to login or register themselves
for getting access in the application. then after the application will check the credentials of the
users whether it is correct or not. If the credentials were unauthorized then the users will not
access the application. If the credentials were correct, then the users will able to select the type
of news and the date of news with their requirements. They can choose or select the category
of news that what they required. After selecting a category, the information was provided with
the selected category. Users can check the details of the news headlines and also save the news
details for further usage. After fulfilling the requirements, users can log out from the
application.
