1PERSONALITY THEORY
The personality that an individual possess refers to the characteristics of the individual
that differentiates them from other individuals. It can be said that every individual has some
enduring characteristic or the other that helps in justifying the characteristics that they showcase
(Starmans, 2017). The personality of an individual is the ground on which an individual displays
a consistent behaviour (Mishra & Novakowski, 2016). It can be said that the behaviour that the
individual showcases are sometime predictable in nature. As a result of the diverse personalities
that exist, it can be said that it is a ground with the help of which an individual acts in a specific
manner in a said situation. There are various personality theories that have been brought into
light. Theories such as psychodynamic theory, humanistic or existential theory, and
dispositional, biological and learning or cognitive theory are the diverse types of theories with
the help of which the nature of an individual in terms of personality can be evaluated (Henriques,
2017). The aim of the following sections is to identify the personality traits of Captain America
or Steve Rogers with reference to the movie titled “The Avengers: Age of Ultron”.
The personality is an individual is an aspect that determines the activities that the
individual is involved in. Steve Rogers of Captain America is the leader of the Avengers
(Kozlovskyi & Kravets, 2017). He is the leader of the Avengers not because he represents
America but because of the diverse leadership skills that he possesses. The personality of Steve
Rogers has been identified as a defining criteria which determines the viability of the action
taken from the part of Captain America. Captain America is also responsible for some of the
major events that has taken place in the movie and thus, it can be said that the personality of the
latter has to be analysed to identify the core elements that define his decision making
mechanism. Thus, the need for analysis of the personality of the individual is necessary when it
comes to the development of the personality traits of the individual.

2PERSONALITY THEORY
If the aspect of leadership is not considered, it can be said there are various traits that can
be noticed in the character. Integrity is a major component of the behaviour of the individual.
Captain America believes in equal treatment and is constantly advocating issues that carrying out
what is appropriate is the best way to go about issues. Furthermore, it has been found out that
Rogers as an individual is humble in nature. Thus, it can also be opined that the latter is a down
to earth character who is ready to admit his short comings in situations. The activities and actions
that are carried out by Steve prove the viability of the statements that have been made.
Inspiration is another factors that comes into the development of the personality of the
individuals. The assimilation of integrity and humility are some qualities that help in developing
the perceptions regarding the personality of the individual. Furthermore, it can be said that the
latter helps in honing the skills that the latter possesses and that in turn reflects in the actions that
are carried out by the individual. It can be interpreted that a Cognitive Personality trait is
displayed throughout the development of the character (Sander et al., 2017). The cognitive
personality trait has been derived from the activities or the events that one has encountered in the
past. Re-kindling the activities or actions help in relating to the situation that one was able to
encounter when they encountered the same in the first place. Hence, cognitive personality traits
refers to the development of the personality of an individual in accordance with the momentous
cognition that an individual goes through regularly and that the individual has gone through in
the past (Abdullah, Omar & Panatik, 2016).
The personality of Steve Rogers is such that they he displays and acknowledges issues
that are associated with values. The individual not only displays a wide array of values, but also
contributes to the ethical behavioural pattern with the help of which he carries out that activities
that he has been famed for. Steve Rogers is an individual still possesses the memories of the past

and with the assimilation of those memories, the latter reacts to situations that he is faced with.
Captain America has been part of various wars. Being part of several wars has helped in realising
importance in team bonding which has helped him in being an effective team player. Captain
America realises the importance in the development of the bonds in teams. Thus, respect is an
aspect that has been gradually built throughout the character development of Steve Rogers as an
individual. Cognition is a theory that has helped Steve Rogers in becoming who he is. It with the
help of memory or cognition that the latter has been able to develop a personality. Thus, it can be
said that the presence of cognitive qualities that are present in the personality of Steve Rogers
helps in justifying the nature of the personality of the individual as a whole. Cognition is an
ability that is developed as a result of the diverse experiences that an individual has throughout
their life time. The cognitive behaviour or the individual has been developed as a result of the
experiences that the Rogers has experienced throughout his life. Being part of the a world war,
struggling as a child and often being bullied, loss of close people (Separation from Peggy Carter
and the death of Bucky Barnes) has resulted in the development of his personality. Hence, it can
be said that the personality of Steve Rogers is due to the assimilation of the experiences that the
he had throughout the course of life that has been nothing short of a rough and uphill road.
In conclusion it can be said that the personality of Captain America or Steve Rogers
displays a high degree of characterisation with the theory of Cognition. The latter is the
outcomes of the adverse and extreme condition witnessed by Rogers.
