INTRODUCTION
Car free city is one of population centre which is depended on walking, public transport and
recycling for transport in different urban areas. It is a city where different motorised vehicles are
totally banned which is consider as car free zones (Bhagra and Sharma, 2018). Care free city is a
model that has gain traction due to various reason like current issues with infrastructure,
congestion, quality of life benefit, proposed environmental benefits. It is providing their service
in different places like Asia, Africa, Europe and other many cities continued to build different
car free areas for various reason liker inception before origin of auto mobile. There are different
cities in Asia which are using proposed model for modernise their infrastructure. It offer mobility
to people which saves their cost of fuel and also attract tourism in country. It reduce pollution
level in city which is good for health of people. City which is car free provide different benefits
to people living in that area as it improve both mental as well as physical health of people with
controlling level of pollution in that areas (Wette, 2019). Different stakeholders are to be
involved in car free city like corporate bodies, government, environmental bodies, people. These
stakeholders are contributing in car free city centre in different ways as UK government made
different regulation related to air quality as well as other polity which helps them to reduce level
of pollution in city and motivate people to follow these rules and regulation. People living in that
city are another stakeholder for car free city centre as these people are the one who are avoid use
of motor vehicle in their city instead using electric car. There are different cities which are
adopting car free city centre like Melbourne city centre, Rundle mall Adelaide, Ghent and many
more. This project report includes analysation of impact of social and health care of car free city.
It describe different issues which are related to economic impact of car free city. Moreover it
discuss recommendation for maximising benefits of car free city centre.
TASK
Health Impact:
Car free city centre create good opportunity for health of people living in a particular city. There
are various changes occur in exercise and health of people living in that city (Fair and Kondo,
2020). Car free city centre is helping in reducing of noise honking as well as pollution level in
city. It helps in improving health of different people living in that city like children, young and
old age people. It provide fresh air to people which is good for them and provide benefits to

asthmatic patient. It make a person physically fit and allow them to work with dedication. There
are various health impact of car free city centre which are as follows:
Changes in citizen exercise: In today's environment, car is mostly used vehicle for purpose of
travelling among people. Increasing use of car for transportation increase pollution level in
environment which is not good for health of people. Implementing car free city centre create
changes in exercise of citizen. In this city, there is increasing use of electric vehicle in city and
people are avoiding motor vehicles. In this city, people are highly use cycles for purpose of
transportation which make them fit and also reduce their cost of fuel.
Impact on mental health: Car free city create positive impact over mental health of people as
increasing use of electric vehicle and avoiding use of motor vehicle reduce pollution level in city.
Increasing pollution does not provide fresh air to people which make them disturbed and create
frustration and other disease to them (Granruth and Pashkova-Balkenhol, 2018). Increasing noise
pollution does not allow a person to concentrate on their work. Use of motor car in city cause
green house emission, air pollution, noise pollution, increase in temperature which is not good
for people as it does not provide them fresh air and also cause them mental disease like
depression and other things.
Changes in health due to reduction in use of motor vehicles: Car free city avoid use of motor
vehicles and increase use of electric vehicles or cycles which create positive impact on health of
of people. It make a person to physically fit as they are using cycles which good for their health.
Avoiding use of motor vehicle in city make environment more cool and and avoiding different
disease like depression, asthma and others.
Impact on tourism, hospitality and events industries: In a running time Tourism, Hospitality
and Event industry are growing fast with the time. It gives various benefits to those country
where tourist visit and they also help local people by providing various opportunities in order to
get employments and profits (Griffin and Coelhoso, 2019). Car free city helps countries in order
to enhance its natural beauty and make pollution free environment which helps it to attract many
tourists towards it. Car free city have various impacts on tourism, hospitality and events
industries in context oh this, they are discussed below:-
Impact on the city as a tourist destination: With the help of car free city centre it make
positive image of city in minds of tourist. According to car free city centre there are very less
pollution on this type of city so, this will provide great impact on tourist and also help the city by

making them tourist destination. Most of people like to visit those places where pollution are

tourist industries there (Lee and Lee, 2018). It create great advantage for the country by making

for their peoples. It also helps in analysing various current problem of the country such as
infrastructure, congestion, environmental and quality. Car free city centre is beneficial for
countries by reducing air and noise pollution in cities. It create great impact on people life by
maintaining their physical and mental health. With the help of this people changing their habits
such as they reach their destination by walking which is also good for their health. It also create

impacts on tourism, hospitality and event industry as well as on economy also. In accordance
with this it create an pollution free and healthy environment which attract many towards it.
Recommendation
 From above mentioned discussion it can be recommended that there should be increasing
use of electric vehicles in city which helps them to reduce negative impact of motor
vehicles. For this, government should promote electric vehicles in city and make people
aware with benefits of these car free city centre.
 It is also recommended that government should banned honking, unwanted sound, noise
in a economy which allow people to concentrate on work and also does not disturb them.
It allow government to promote a city which is full of peace and also enhance their
health. This peace allow them to focus on their work and develop new ideas.
 It is also suggested that government is should promote use of cycle in their country which
is food for people as it allow them to do some physical exercise. It enhance health of
people which make them physically fit and also reduce possibility of problems like fat,
cervical pain and many more. It build a healthy habit among people which can be move
to generation to generation.
 It is also advised to government for making car free city centre that they should make
public transport facility for effective. They should ensure effective pedestrian facility
which should be convenient for walking and sales their cost of transportation.
