Introduction
Modern business scenario is highly competitive. Numerous numbers of new small
business ventures are entering in market with their products. As per the recent
statistics, almost 99% business organizations across the UK premises are listed in
small business organizations that are the major contributors to the global economy
as well. However, small business ventures have to face verity of issues during
conducting business operations. This paper will outline all the procedures of starting
a new business and conducting market research for better consideration of the
project. Lastly, employment laws will be described in an organizational context.

Task 1
Summarisation of the new business
The new business idea is starting a car service centre with online features. Basically,
this organization will deal in automobile repair industry. In modern business scenario,
automobile industry such has great demand. Therefore, the new business
organization will offer the best class motor services to their customers in order to
generate business profits. Apart from that, due to high usage of technology and
internet services, the company will offer their services via internet platforms as well.
Automobile service operators mainly do not offer online booking features and due to
this reason, the new business firm has decided to provide the online feature to
create different compared to other rival competitors. However, the company will have
the budget of £20000 for starting the new business.
The new business will be set up in Manchester city, London that is one of the most
advance locations across the UK premises. Therefore, the company will surely have
an excellent chance of generating higher amount of cash through providing
automobile repair services to the customers of the specified location. However, here
target customers are mostly those people who have cars and facing issues related
services and maintenance of the car. Apart from that, as the company is providing
services through online as well, the company will target most of the youth riders and
car owners those are familiar with online facilities.
However, the business model for this new organization will be retailer because the
firm shall serve to customers directly. Alternatively, this will lead to provide better
services to the customers.
Name of the business
Every business organization has its own name that is helpful to customers for
identifying the shop from a lot of options. For this new business, selected name is
“Unique Car service Centre”.
Visual identity

Visual identity refers to the visual aspects of branding, which businesses create for
evoking the certain experiences and feelings along with the brand (Karp et al., 2018).
Unique Car service Centre will use an effective logo for differentiating their
business from other rivals. The logo includes a blue car that indicates that the firm
provides car repair services and dollars that indicates the affordable price rate of the
services so that more numbers of customers will be attracted towards the company.
Lastly, the logo has the name of the organization at the bottom with highlighted blue
colour for grabbing attention of the customers.
Different values
The new business will create values in terms of diversity, environmental, equality
and social. However, this business is aimed at promoting all these values as
responsible business venture. The Equality Act 2010 will be followed across the
organizational premises for avoiding favouritism or partiality and stopping any kind of
discrimination within the firm (Waughray, 2014). During recruitment process, both
male and female candidates will be provided similar opportunities. Additionally, the
firm will focus upon conducting CSR activity for creating value for the society and
community as well. The firm will manage its waste products to maintain the
environmental health of Manchester.

What primary research will you conduct? Why?
Before setting up a new business, it is such necessity to conduct the market
research of the selected location (Quinlan, 2019). Primary research includes both
qualitative (Surveys) and quantitative (interviews) method for collecting the most
authentic and realistic data from the market (Norris et al., 2015). It offers fresh and
unused data from the selected location so that business organizations like Unique
Car service Centre can understand the business atmosphere and customers’
purchasing behaviour in an effective manner of that selected location.
What secondary research will you conduct? Why?
Secondary research is completely different from primary research method. In this
secondary research, the researcher will study existing theories and philosophies in
relation to the topic of the research. In secondary research method, different themes
are created in the context of the research topic. In this type of research, the accuracy
and authentication of the collected data is measured. This paves the way for primary
research, as the primary research needs background information and overall

In primary research, there are two methods of collecting data; one is quantitative
method and other is qualitative method. Quantitative method is followed in primary
research to collect data from the market that is authentic and relevant simultaneously
(Brannen, 2017). In this quantitative method, surveys are arranged to collect
feedbacks from the survey respondents. However, all the data and information
collected by the quantitative method is authentic that can be used for successful
completion of projects. In order to collect relevant data from the market regarding
business and customer purchasing behaviour, Unique Car service Centre will use
the quantitative method.
What quantitative research will you conduct? Why?

Qualitative research method is also included in the primary research method. It
includes interviews, record keeping, ethnographic research, process of observation
and others. Focus groups and interview are considered as the best method of this
research. During interview different experts will be invited to gather their knowledge
and information regarding the specific topic. Additionally, majority of the data can be
used for designing the product of an organization like Unique Car service Centre.
Therefore, the researcher has decided to conduct quantitative research to gather
information from the experts, which they will use to manufacture and modify their
products and meeting the expectations of the customers effectively.

Justification for taking decision
Disability discrimination in recruitment was taken place in a well-established
business organization, where the employer needed all job applicants for completing
a psychometric test on online platform. In the case Government Legal Services v
Brookes [EAT 2017] it is seen that the claimant has the syndrome of Asperger, asked
to an alternative exam option due to her health condition. The employer had refused
the request and influenced the disability discrimination within the firm. The EAT
stated that the claimant was the victim of organizational discrimination activity and
during recruitment Equality and diversity law was not maintained in appropriate
manner (Merrylees, 2019). From this above case study, it can be stated that
employer needs to be flexible and ethical enough that he or she can recruit
employees without making any discrimination within the firm.
Here, in the given case study, specified business organization is facing ethical
dilemma due to discrimination, bullying and harassment by the management that is
creating barriers to different business operations. Therefore, in this case, employer
requires being flexible as well for overseeing and eradicating these ethical issues
from the organization. Following the Equality and Diversity law within the firm is
another important consideration that will lead the company towards accomplishing
business objectives without any type of unethical business activity (Waughray,
2014).

Complying with Equality and Diversity law during selection applicants
Unique Car service Centre has increased its business structure and now the
organization is capable of employing two staffs on zero-hour contracts. However,
during the selection of eligible applicants, Unique Car service Centre has followed
the Equality and Diversity law. The HR manager of the firm has the major
responsibility of recruiting the most eligible candidate from the pool of qualified
candidates avoiding partiality or favouritism. In UK premises, maintaining the
Equality and Diversity law is mandatory in order to continue conducting business
operations across the UK premises. During the selection process, HR personnel will
be responsible for conducting entire recruitment process under the Equality and
Diversity law. Resumes of different candidates will be checked and then selected
candidates will be called or mailed for attending the recruitment process. In the
selection process, candidates have to face different types of exams such as eligibility
test, aptitude test, preliminary interview, HR round and others. HR manager of the
organization will oversee the exhaustive selection procedures for maintaining the
equality and diversity regulations across the organizational premises.
What rights will your new employee have?
Within the organizational premises of Unique Car service Centre, new employees
will be provided a range of rights and features that are as follows:
 New employees will be paid as per the National minimum wage that is
currently £5.30 per hour for employees aged 18-21 years age, where age
group of 21 and more will be paid £6.70 as per the norms of the UK
parliament. New and existing employees will have the right of claiming their
proper wages (Reeves et al., 2017).

Business’ assets, liabilities, expenses and gains
Business assets refer to pieces of property or machines bought primarily and
exclusively for business use. Unique Car service Centre has few of the business
assets such as cash and cash equivalents, inventory, high amount of raw material,
manufacturing as well as packaging supplies and others.
The business firm also has current business liabilities including trade and other
payables, tax liabilities, short term borrowings and provisions. However, all these
business liabilities are used to grow the existing business of Unique Car service
Centre.
Unique Car service Centre will have to spend in different sectors for beginning
their business journey. For an instance, the organization will have to purchase the
