CE 2.2 Project Background
CE 2.2.1 Characteristics of the project
The topic of climate change has always been a topic of great discussion and debate. It has
recently gained the title of becoming a worldwide concern. Governments have tried to improve
the daily lifestyle of the people of the earth so that the increase in the global warming problems
can be easily removed. However individuals in the world is not able to provide any kind of help
and gets frustrated to the factor of global warming. The main aim for the project is to work on an
individual entity based working process for the reduction of global warming in the world. With
the help of research and team work I found out that the use of internet can help in the process of
helping and connecting different organisations and individuals who are concerned about the rise
in global warming. The project is to produce a website which will be cater to the specific idea to
promote carbon neutral products in the market.

CE 2.2.2 Objectives developed for the project
For this project I had laid out the following objective for the development of the best
quality project:
 To develop a website to connect consumers
 To connect organisations as well as individuals into a single entity.
 To cater to the promotion of use of carbon neutral products.
 To provide a section on the website to promote and sell carbon neutral products.
 To provide a section of tips for the individual people who has taken a step forward for
the reduction of carbon particles and emission in the environment.
 To develop a section in the website which would be targeting the topic of discussion.
CE 2.2.3 My area of work
For the project I had helped in the designing of the website along with the
implementation of the website. The project was to provide a single platform for different
organisation and individuals who have the tension about the increase of carbon particles in the
environment. The website is to promote the use of carbon neutral products. I had developed the
front end design of the web site and the schema of the data base which is to be used for the
website. I had taken care of the documentation of the final complete report of the website.

CE 2.2.5 My responsibilities throughout the project
I was responsible for the development of the front end design of the website. I had also
helped in the development of the schema diagram and the data base for the website. The basic of
the project was to compile a single ground where different organisations and individuals to help
the environment in making it carbon freeze. The website also promotes the use of the carbon
neutral products in the world. I had also helped in the development of the complete project report
based on the research conducted by my team mates and the work that we had completed.

CE 2.3 Distinctive Activity
CE 2.3.1 Comprehending the theory of the project
The project was to provide a platform for different organisations and individuals who are
concerned with the rise of global warming. The website had been an active one with the addition
of new information based on the topic. I had made sure that the objectives of the project had
been followed. I had also followed the criteria of making the website user friendly in nature. This
required the proper following of the design that was being used for the website. The major
improvement was the addition of the donation portal into the system. This was to provide a
ground on which the website would be able to increase their working area in different domains.
CE 2.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
I had used my industrial engineering skills which I had gained from my experience in
different projects. When the bugs were being found in the website development progress I had
helped in the removal of most of them. I had also helped in the research of the materials based on
which the content was to be created. The content had to be innovative and also attract the
attention of the visitors instantly. As this was to be hosted without any prior funding from
outside the content needed to be attractive for the attraction of the visitors so that they would be
able to donate some money into the funding.
CE 2.3.3 Accomplishment and task performed
I had used the process of DMAIC for the complete and successful implementation of the
website. With the help of DMAIC I was able to have a consistent overall designing flow of the
system. The DMAIC process is comprised of the following 5 steps: Define, Measure, Analyse,
Improve and Control. With the following of these steps I was able to complete the designing

phase of the system. With the single goal in mind to improve the content of carbon particles in
the environment. The reduction of the carbon particles and the promotion of carbon neutral
products in the environment. I had taken help from various online templates for the project.
Compiling different entities from the templates I was able to provide the best quality dynamic
website along with the implementation of bootstrap.
CE 2.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
2.3.4.1 Issues
The major issue which was faced was during the testing phase. There was no proper way
to understand if the code for the transfer of donations was taking place in the website. Another
problem which I had faced was when I had tried to implement blog posting for individual users.
2.3.4.2 Solutions
The problem with the use of the donation portal of the project was resolved easily. I had
used two new accounts and used them to transfer money with the help of the donation portal of
the website. The funds were being transferred easily and without any loss of data. During the
implementation of blog post I was not able to provide the individual users their own white board
for the posting of blogs. I then found a way to connect to a free blog hosting website which
helped in the creation of easy portals based on their usernames on our website. From there the
users would be able to create new blogs and was made available for individual users.
CE 2.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
I had implemented the use of a data base into the website where most of the important
informations is to be stored. A log in page had also been used for the creation of profiles of
organisations and individuals. This will help them to proceed with the blogging of their data and

information on the website for others to follow and also provide ideas for others to implement in
their own way. I had also helped in the use of bootstrap in the website coding for the us eof the
website in different devices.
CE 2.3.6 Collaborative work
I had collaborated with my team mates to complete the project. For the project I had
helped in the designing of the front end visuals of the website. The schema of the data base to be
used for the website where most of the information is to be stored. The data base is essential as
the website is also to incorporate the acceptance of donations which will be used for the
promotion of the carbon neutral products and for the third world countries.
CE 2.4 Project Review
CE 2.4.1 Project Overview
The problem based on which the project was developed was the unavailability of a
common platform for people to discuss the problem of increasing of carbon particle in the
environment. The increase in these factors ultimately result in the increase of the global warming
factor in the environment. The objectives which had been set for the project had been met. At the
end of the project the team had been able to develop the best information platform for the raising
of awareness about the use of carbon neutral products in the market.
CE 2.4.2 My contribution to work
For the project I had helped my team mates in the development of the front end of the
website and the working schema diagram for the database to be used in the software. This would
help in the understanding the project system which we were to create in a better format. The

schema helped in the understanding of the process in which the data is to be stored in the data
base and the way the data is to be used in the later stages. The website being a common ground
for all different kinds of users to come and share their views on the use of carbon rich products
can be helpful in making the environment cleaner.
