Introduction
In the given study, the various techniques of assessment in healthcare would be compared. The
application of some theories for planning the care process in healthcare would be discussed. The
affect of those theories on planning and assessing the process of healthcare would be examined.

P1 Compare the different models of assessment and their implementation in healthcare
There are various models of assessment that can be implemented in healthcare. The WTO has
controlled the inequality in health and social care services in every region of the world to provide
basic rights to people and limiting the cost of bad sick health. This would not only control the
activities and behaviour of the practitioners of healthcare but also enhance the view of the people
towards the healthcare services. Many policies are followed as per the guidelines of the
government and different models of health and social care. This helps in monitoring the actions
of the health and social care providers so that there would not be discrimination towards the
patients. In the present study, the holistic and empowerment models would be compared to get
the knowledge of their implication in healthcare.
According to the empowerment model, many influences are beyond the control of human beings
(Belbin, 1985). This practice is used in healthcare to encourage the use of an environment that
would involve the person who requires healthcare services. The model would enhance the health
condition of the patients in an effective way (Schedlitzki and Edwards, 2014). This model
includes empowering the individual as well as developing the skills so that there would be an
enhancement in health. The practitioners would be able to acquire knowledge in dealing with the
patients.

The holistic model considers the physical, social, psychological, environmental, and spiritual
aspects to assist the individuals so that they can empower themselves. The holistic model can be
helpful for the society and in delicate conditions of the patients. However, there are some
restrictions of resources as well as of the time in using this model in healthcare practice.
Therefore, it cannot be said that this model would be successful in every region and in any
circumstances.
P2 Discuss the application of theoretical perspectives to the care planning process in a
healthcare setting
There are many theories in the planning process that hold an important place in healthcare
practice. The social cause of the approach of health is one of the significant perspectives in the
planning process (Nelson and Staggers, 2016). The health status of an individual can be affected
by their economic as well as social conditions. Healthcare providers should consider the social
and economic conditions of patients and taken care carefully. Anti-oppressive is another
theoretical perspective that holds the view that there are many facets of oppressions concerning
the diversity in the social identity of the person (Hayes and Llewellyn, 2010). The diversity of
the individual can be occurred in economic status, ethnicity, gender, and other factors. The

healthcare practitioners should take care of the patients disregarding the difference in their
religion, caste, colour, gender, race, and other factors.
D1 Evaluate the influence of different theoretical perspectives on models of planning and
assessment used in the workplace
The various theoretical perspectives have influenced the different techniques of care planning in
an inclusive way. The health approach of social determinants has affected the holistic model of
healthcare assessment. As per the social approach, the social aspects of the person affect the
health status as well as can empower them as well. According to the anti-oppressive perspective,
also affect the social model. It focuses on the improvement of capabilities of the individual as
well as strengthens the group so that the patients would be able to overcome disability and
impairment of health. This approach aims to mitigate the oppression and can be related to the
social model, which is utilised in social care. Another framework is of multiculturalism that
accepts the difference in ethnicity and culture of the person. It also acknowledges the right to
maintain a different identity of a culture. This model also influences another model of bio-
medical that is used in identifying as well as treating the signs and symptoms of various diseases
(Howatson-Jones et al., 2015).
Conclusion
It can be concluded from the given study that there are various models of assessment in
healthcare practice, such as empowerment model and holistic model. The various approaches can
be applied in planning for the healthcare that can affect the planning as well as the assessment
process in health and social care.
