INTRODUCTION
Career view point is mainly concern a pattern of employment related experience and it is
all about to choose the best option for employment (Miller, 2017). This report analyses my
personal strengths and weaknesses and creates a dedicated career action plan for my professional
development in my efforts to pursue my career ambition of becoming a successful Health and
Safety Inspector within the construction industries of UK.
MAIN BODY
Personal Analysis
In this section of the report, I have conducted thorough personal analyses of my
professional strengths and weaknesses in order to identify the key operational areas and skills
that I need to further enhance and improve upon in the future. This would effectively allow for
me to successfully pursue my career ambition of becoming a successful and competent Health
and Safety Inspector within the construction industry of UK. I have been able to effectively
analyse the key skills and competencies required of a successful Health and Safety Inspector
within the construction industry of UK. This has allowed for me to effectively compare my own
skills and competencies to the required skills of a Health and Safety Inspector in order to assess
my own personal strengths and weaknesses which are detailed as follows:
Personal Strengths:
Management and operational skills: I posses a strong managerial skills because I have
to deal with many people and having such skills will assist me to deal with many
situation. In addition to this, I make sure to comply with ethical and moral principles
because it is necessary to run a business in smooth manner (Gould, 2017). As to attain my
define career, it is necessary to manage the things as per set goals and supports others to
meet the define aim.
Problem solving and analytical skills : Another strength in which I am able to perform
the work in better manner and also solve man disputes because of having strong problem
solving skills. Based on the comparing my skills to CW 1. I have assessed that my

analytical and problem solving skills are sufficiently developed to allow me to conduct
daily operations. As I want to be a Health and Safety officer and this skills plays an
important role (Deiorio and et.al., 2016). This is because throughout my professional and
learning career, I have always been able to effectively apply my developed analytical and
problem solving skills to come to relevant and required solutions.
Strong Communication skills: Another major personal strength of mine because as per
my current job profile, I posses a strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
I had completed a CPD communication skills, which assist me to work in Amazon where
I have to deal with lots of people even in different languages. Hence, Being bilingual
allows me to effectively communicate with increased number of employees within the
construction industry of UK to assess whether their health and safety is actually being
protected within the construction industry or not. Thus, the present skills will also
supports me to meet my career and become a Health and Safety Officer.
Personal Weaknesses:
Lack of legal knowledge: I posses strong management skills but on the other side, I do
not have enough knowledge with legal structure. But to be a Health and Safety Officer it
is necessary to posses a complete and comprehensive knowledge about all the legal
structures, legislations, regulations etc., because it plays a critical importance for
company's daily operations. It is also evaluated by McKenzie, Coldwell-Neilson and
Palmer (2017) that to run a construction industry, it is necessary to posses a strong legal
knowledge related to industry in order to run a business in smooth manner. This is a
major professional weakness that I possess that hinders my ability to eventually be able to
become a successful Health and Safety Inspector and thus requires my undivided
attention.
Not having knowledge related to up to date equipment and information: Based on
my current profile, I am only updated with techniques used in operational field. But I am
completely unaware about the measurement instruments that are used within the
construction industry in order to ensure their optimum utilisation by businesses. As I have
been away from my professional responsibilities for the past few years, being forced to

look after my family, a lot of operational machines and measuring instruments commonly
used within the construction industry have been innovated and updated due to new
advancements in technology (Hartung and Vess, 2016). As I possess no knowledge about
the new operational machines and measuring equipment within the construction industry
of UK, this is a major weakness for me and hinders my ability to become a successful and
competent Health and Safety Inspector in the future and thus is required to be addressed
by myself in the future.

Based on my personal strengths and weaknesses, it is evident that I do possess some of
the key skills and competencies that are required of a successful and competent Health and

conduct their daily operations successfully within the construction sector of UK. This is why I
have created a dedicated career action plan that aims to address my personal weaknesses so that I
