INTRODUCTION
Career action plan and personal analysis are the tow main aspects that are required to be
focused by all the individuals who are planning to reach the career goals in future. With the help
of both of them an individual can determine all the strengths and weaknesses of self and make
efforts to deal with all the negative aspects in behaviour (Bernaud and Guédon, 2018). Apart
from this, both of the helps to improve the skills which can help to meet the future goals and
objectives. If a person who is willing to get a desired job in future is not able to focus upon these
two elements then it will be very difficult to make meet the long-term personal aims. This report
is based upon self-analysis so that all the strengths and weaknesses that may leave impacts upon
career growth could be determined. In order to complete it different topics are discussed in this
report. These are personal analysis, career action plan, self-reflection etc.
MAIN BODY
Personal analysis
Personal analysis is the process of analysing an individual’s abilities and the key
elements which are resulting in weaknesses to meet the future goals. It is very important for all
the individuals to make sure that they analyse themselves properly so that strengths, weaknesses,
threats and opportunities could be determined. Main purpose of it is to review the current skills,
experience and knowledge which can help to attain the predetermined goals. It can guide the
persons to determine the key areas which are required to be focused to make improvements so
that all the targets could be accomplished successfully. It guides all the individuals to analyse
themselves and understand the qualities that are required to be acquired by them in future and the
main skills that should be improved to attain success (Li, 2016). If a person who is highly
focused with career use it then it can help to figure out the major changes that should be carried
out to reach the long-term personal goals. On the other hand, if it is not focused by an individual
then it will be very difficult to reach the objectives. While planning to conduct the personal
analysis a person can use personal SWOT analysis. It is a technique which is used to analyse all
the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for a person. With the help of it, the key
areas which are required to be focused in future to make improvements could be determined. A
personal SWOT analysis is as follows:

Another major weakness of mine is
weak communication. While working
in a hotel it is very important for an
individual to be good in interaction and
because of my weak communication I
will not be able to resolve the queries of
guests.
Opportunities Threats
I have a great opportunity to improve
my time management skills by taking
proper assistance from the senior
managers. They can help me to
complete all the tasks in the specific
time limit which will help me to meet
my career goals (Ma, 2018).
Another opportunity for me is taking
training of soft skills so that I can
enhance my ability to interact with
clients and improve communication
skills. It will help me to resolve all the
queries of guests in the hotel and meet
obligations of my job role.
One of the major threat for me is losing
my confidence because when I will not
be able to complete all the tasks on time
then I may loose my confidence which
will affect my career growth.
Another threat for me is decreasing
ability to meet the career goals because
of weak communication. When I will
not be able to communicate with others
properly then it will be very difficult to
meet the requirements of my job role
and fulfil demand of visitors staying in
the hotel.

Reflection: From the personal analysis it has been identified that my weaknesses are lack
of time management and communication skills. My main strengths are enthusiastic and
dependable nature, well organised, ability to work in the changing environment, perform under
pressure, able to multi-tasking and attentive to details. With the help of all these strengths I can
meet all the career goals of mine and fulfil all the requirements of the job role. I am also required
to deal with all my weaknesses and take proper assistance from experienced individuals who can
guide me to respond all of them (McKenzie, Coldwell-Neilson and Palmer, 2017).
From the above analysis it has been determined that the area where I was lack in the
evidences were analysis of weaknesses and threats. In the application of personal SWOT
analysis, I need to add more examples so that I can enhance my ability to meet the career goals
and objectives. In my overall application of the personal analysis I think that I was weak in
analysing my key threats and weaknesses as there are several other areas such as confidence
level etc. that should also be focused by me to improve my skills.
Career action plan
Career action plan is a type of details plan which is mainly focused with the development
of skills that are required to be improved so that an individual can meet the long-term goals. It is
also known as personal or professional development plan (Mehrmann, Scholz and Vergara,
2018). With the help of it, improvements in the weak area could be made which will help to meet
personal goals. A career development plan for the major areas that should be focused by me is as
follows:

From the above project report, it has been concluded that for all the individuals it is very
important to make sure that they pay attention towards personal analysis and career development
plan. With the help of them, a person can analyse the main areas that are required to be focused
to reach the personal goals. While conducting analysis of self, personal SWOT analysis could be
used which can help to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. When the
weaknesses and threats will be analysed then career development plan could be developed to
respond them.
