Introduction
The job advertisement is related to human resource profile. There are many skills and
deep knowledge is required to become human resource. As HR hires employees for the company
so they should have knowledge and experience regarding how to deal with candidates.
Communication skills should be there is HR and should have HR policy related knowledge. HR
should also have patience because they have to handle various kinds of candidates (Hirschi and
Froidevaux, 2019). So they must know that how to deal with them. This study will discuss about
skills, knowledge and experience which are required to become HR of the company. Further will
evaluate career action plan which include areas where focus is required and timescale in which
goals can be achieved or skills, knowledge and experience where further development is needed
and report will also provide CV.
Main body
Personal analysis
Current skills:
Communication skills is the vital skill which is required in human resource profile. As
HR communicates with many parties which includes candidates who came for job interview,
third party company which helps HR to get employees for the company. Management of the
company etc. so effective communication skills will only help HR to achieve the goal of the
company. If we talk about communication then I have strong written communication skill and
HR also require good written communication because they have to email many times in a day.
Although my verbal communication is not strong because I didn't studied from English medium
school. Another most common skill is problem solving skill. This skill is also important for the
role of human resource (Jackson, 2017). Through this skill HR can able to solve complex
problems which will comes in their way.
They will able to solve problem only if HR possess problem-solving skills. This skill will give
confidence to HR and then they will solve every problem which will come in their way. team
work skill is also required because HR have to work in a team and they have to coordinate
regularly with each other. As when work is done in team then goals can be achieved easily and
quickly. Decision making skill is also vital because it helps to take effective decisions. I have this
skill which will give me the advantage when I will work on the post of HR in the future.
Knowledge:
Document Page
As an human resource proper understanding of rules and regulations related to employment is
must. As it is the demand of this job role. By having knowledge regarding this makes strong HR.
having knowledge regarding employment laws HR can fulfil needs and expectations of their
employees. Employment laws knowledge also help HR to safeguard organisation if they got
stuck in any legal problems. Knowledge related to employee or team motivation. HR should
have knowledge regarding how to motivate workers so that they can motivate them and
encourage them to perform better. I believe that these knowledge are very necessary to have an
individual if they want to become HR because these are the basic knowledge which every HR
must have. Along with that HR policy knowledge should also have by HR. as this will help them
in doing better recruitment (Dillahunt and Hsiao, 2020). Hiring candidate is the main role of HR
and if they fail in this role then they are not considered as a good HR.
Expertise:
Expertise which HR should have are in the field of recruitment and selection and also talent
management. It is agreed that when an individual have knowledge regarding this then they are
able to fulfil expectations of company which is needed for human resource role. After this talent
management is also very important because it will retain top performer employees in the
organisation. If employees will provided benefits in terms of rewards, recognition, promotion
etc. then they will never leave the organisation and will remain in the same company for longer
time. Recruitment and selection is the main job of HR so having this expertise will help HR in
achieving progress in their career.

Talent management I will talk to the

company so that can
come to know their
feeling. This will helps
in managing talent.
I will read motivation
related books so that
can motivate workers
(Sarchielli, 2017).
1 year.
Teamwork skill is not present in me and this skill is required to become human resource
because HR normally works in a team and working in a team also helps to achieve objectives
more rapidly. In order to develop this skill I have decided that I will work with teams. Earlier I
did not like to work in the team but I realised the difference between individual working and
team working. Teamwork also helps to solve problem faster and facilitate collaboration and
cooperation. It will take 6 months to me to develop this skill. Teamwork skill also increase
motivation because when an individual works in a team then by observing other member work
they get motivated and work hard so that can become good team member. It also starts healthy
competition in the organisation (Lee, 2019). Competition is good until it is healthy. Intentionally
doing wrong with your colleague in order to win any competition is wrong. As an employee will
survive long term in the company only if there co workers are good. In the areas of employment
legislation also I have very less knowledge.
I have gain knowledge in this field if I want to became good HR. as having this knowledge will
help me to save my company from legal issues if they face it anytime. If they face any issue
regarding employment laws then with this knowledge I will protect my organisation (Hunt and
et.al., 2017). To develop understanding in this area I will read books offline and online which
consists of information related to employment legislation. It will take 9 months to develop this
knowledge because it will require deep study as to understand it and also remember everything is
not an easy task. Expertise which I required is in talent management. I don't have much
knowledge in this area and also don't know how talent are managed in the organisation. Talent
management is the vital thing because it will help organisation to achieve objectives as through
this top employee will get retained in the company. It will also help human resource to hire right
employee for the right position.
Document Page
If top performer will not get retained in the company then they can move to rival company and
through this secrets of company can get leaked. Talent management have various methods like
rewarding workforce, promoting them, recognition, training and development etc. it will require
almost one complete year to learn talent management properly. Talent management is not small
but is very wide (Walker, 2019). As TM motivates workforce and that will increase their
productivity because getting motivation employees work hard.
Conclusion
Through this report it can be concluded that job opportunity is regarding human resource.
Although some people think that role of HR is easy as only employees have to hire and fire but it
is not the real picture. I believe that role of HR is very tough. Skills which are required to
become HR are communication skill, the most basic skill. As HR is the person who needs to
communicate with very candidate before they join the company and this communication is
known as interview. As by taking interview only HR will decide that candidate have to select or
not. Other skill is problem solving because HR deals with many problems while working in the
organisation. So I think this skill will help HR to solve problem whether it is complex or easy.
Being an HR, employment laws related to knowledge is compulsory because any individual who
is having any issue or want to know their rights as an employee will ask HR only. So HR should
have knowledge of HR policies so that they can modify it if required. Expertise which is required
by HR is in the area of recruitment and selection and also talent management. As the job role of
HR revolves around workforce so they get responsibilities related to them only. Report has also
mentioned career action plan which includes areas where improvement is required with strategies
and timescale. I will build all skills in which I am lacking.
