INTRODUCTION
In order to make career more bright, marketing is considered as the best profession for a
person (Hunt and et. al., 2017). It helps in enhancing research skills, understanding different
preferences of customers, making communication in different languages, identifying different
trends of marketplace etc. As through personal analysis, I have identified that currently Marks
and Spencer faces some issues in international market, related to promote its business. Therefore,
it offers a manager post in marketing department at Paddington. To get this job, in this essay I
have made a career action plan for addressing personal development, as well as prepare a CV
also to apply for this job also.
PERSONAL ANALYSIS
Marketing refers to most important function of a company, where a marketing team
evaluated the current situation of marketplace, identify customer's demand, find sources of
funding and more (Rottinghaus and et. al., 2017). So, it includes all activities that give an
opportunity to an individual to make their career more bright, because a person having such
skills gain higher position in relatable field (Ginevra and et. al., 2017). Therefore, I have
completed my academics in marketing field and develop skills that required to become an
effective marketer. I have personally aimed to work in big organisations of retailing sector,
because it gives a more challenging role for marketers to perform their responsibilities.
Marks & Spencer is one of the retailer that operates business on large level and offer
products worldwide. It has currently given an advertisement for job of an marketing manager on
competitive salary with exclusive incentives, at Paddington. The eligibility criteria of this
position is that person must have knowledge and experience of e-mail and other digital
marketing concept, including KPIs campaigning (Wiele and et. al., 2017). Along with this,
leading promotional loyalty campaign in Ireland, developing and managing key trigger
campaigns, having a better experience related to sales force journey builder tool and optimise
consumer data for delivering valuable insights to wider team etc. are some of the roles and
responsibilities of given post (Savickas, 2016). Therefore, to analyse whether I am able to gain
this opportunity or need to develop skills, I have conducted a personal analysis in following
manner:-

Self/Strengths Opportunities/ weak areas
I have worked in many small retail
companies as a marketing executive
where, mainly SAP is used to track
customer and business interaction.
This would have improved and
increased my technological skills.
By making personal interaction with
company's stakeholders, I have gained
opportunity how to convince them for
making investment in our company.
In the past retailer company, I have
worked for near about 2 years, where
main responsibilities of mine is to
make clarity among workers about
their assigned duties and supervise
them to accomplish the same, for
attainment of common goal, in set
period of time.
To work in large organisations, it is
essential for individuals to gain effective
communication skills to deal with
different culture of people. Therefore, to
enhance this ability I need to work more
on my personal skill and learn different
languages to make interaction with
people belong to different cultures.
To juggle with various roles and
responsibilities, I also need to learn how
to manage a large workplace and work
efficiently within a team. For this
purpose, I need to develop management
skills, which would aid me to handle
work pressure and make more effective
management plans to conduct marketing
responsibilities in better manner.
Usage of customer data for enhancing
sales performance considered as most
demanded ability that marketers must
have to support organisation for
achievement of business objectives.
Therefore, I need to work on this area
also. For this purpose, it is essential to
understand the concept of e-mail
marketing, analyse and prepare data

CONCLUSION
As per this project, I have analysed that to grab higher opportunities in an organisation,
