These were the skills which I needed to develop in me for triggering my career as
operations support manager in the logistic and management company. The action plan
prepared by me has set out the strategies regarding how will I achieve my short term
goals and objectives that I desire along with the time required for each skill to develop.
This action plan will guide me in achieving what I intend to and if I does not get the
desired result , it will allow me to make modifications in the current plan so that I can
effectively improvement the skills that a graduate must have who wish to become a
manager in the future.
CONCLUSION
I will use the prepared action plan in accordance with the principles of the Kolb’s
learning model which guides an individual regarding how it learn new things
systematically and use that newly acquired knowledge in the practical life. As per the
Kolb’s model, there are four stages in the self learning which are ; confrontation of a
situation or having a concrete experience, then reflection of the situation confronted by
the individual for finding out any inconsistencies between the exiting understanding and
the new experience, after-which creating an abstract conceptualization for dealing with
the new situation and finally applying the new acquired learning in the environment for
ascertaining the results (Kolb's Learning Styles and Experiential Learning Cycle, 2017).

The use of my personal and professional development plan will go just like the
Kolb’s learning model wherein I will use my strategies that I have developed in the plan
for developing the needed skills. After my confrontation with a specific situation, I will
conduct a self reflection by observing whether there are any inconsistencies in between
my understanding and that particular situation. This self reflection will facilitate me with
the creation of new ideas and thoughts. This is the stage in Kolb’s learning style wherein
a person learns a new concept and forms an abstract conceptualization for facing a new
situation . Lastly, I will use this learning in my surroundings to see what actually happens
whether I have been to apply my newly developed skills as per the action, are they
satisfactory, are they going to help me in my to grow personally and professionally. This
measurement of my skills will be from the feed-back and reviews by my peers,
colleagues, friends , family and seniors.
