INTRODUCTION
Career action plan is the most important aspect as it is a process of identification of
personal goals and then finding ways to achieve the desired objectives so that the goals laid
down at the starting is accomplished (Autin, 2017). In this report there is an evaluation of various
opportunities that are available for me so that I can enter in HR profession as a designation of
HR manager in retail industry. This will help me to enhance my current skill set and ability to
deal with the challenges. Also it will help me to develop new skills that are useful and beneficial
in the long run. Thus the information that is gathered by doing various research and analysis, can
be used correctly in order to generate new and specific skills. There is a personal analysis done
on the basis of my various skill set, a career action plan, and a CV is also covered in this report.
There are various types of opportunities as well as skills, knowledge and expertise are identified
that are very useful for the growth and development is also included in this report briefly.
MAIN BODY
Personal analysis
The profession that has been chosen by me is HR manager in the industry of retail as it
gives maximum opportunities of growth as well as it is the best way to improve the current sill
set as well as it gives ample chance to develop and create new skills that are essential for the job.
The role of HR is very important in any industry and I will put my best efforts so that I can stand
up to the expectations of each and every personnel (Hughes, Kinder and Cooper, 2019). There
are various opportunities in the retail industry that I can use like there is advancement and up-
gradation of technologies as well as the market is dynamic and one has to be flexible enough so
as to cope up with the changing environment. This will help me in improving my ability as a
personnel as well as a professional. There are various skills that are explained briefly below-
Communication skills- It is a basis skill yet the most important one because good
communication is an essential aspect for the position of HR manager in retail industry. I am good
in this skill as I communicate properly and effectively with others.
Financing skills- These are the skills that are helpful in overcoming various financial
challenges by applying reasonable knowledge and thus it is a critical aspect. I am not good in this
skill as I lack proper knowledge about it but I hope that I would be able to improve it gradually.
There are various challenges too for the HR role as it is a job of high power but also many

Organisational skills- These are various set of skills that are useful in achieving various
aspects of a business by effective and efficiently using strength of workforce, its energy, and
mental ability. I am good in this skill as I am capable of using the workforce in an effective and
efficient manner (Korna-Opincāne and Katane, 2018).
Adaptability skills- It is regarded as the most important aspect because of its nature. As
the business environment is dynamic in nature in the current scenario thus this skills possess a lot
of value and its the time taken to adapt to the challenges that are faced by organisation as well as
an individual. I am not up to the mark in this skill as I am not flexible enough to cope up with
different changes of the industry.
Leadership skills- It is the skill that is very important in big firms but does not loose
value in smaller firms too. A good leader that have leadership quality can help a business grow
and prosper. I am very good in this aspect as I am capable of leading a team in a desired manner
so that goals can be achieved.
Critical thinking abilities- It is the most important aspect as it can be very crucial for a
business as in it reasonable skill and knowledge must be applied so that it can add to the growth
of the firm. I am not good in this skill as I lack the desired knowledge that is helpful but I am
pretty sure that I will develop and improve my existing skill gradually (Lasim, Fernando and
Pupat, 2016).
From the above analysis it can be seen that I am good in some skills whereas not up to
the mark in some. So a detailed examination have been done below-

the workforce that are working in the business as well as I am capable of encouraging the
workers to perform at their best of the ability.

in current situation are good enough but I still need to put a lot of efforts in improving and
developing some for the post of HR manager in the retail industry.
