Values
According to John (2016), the values people possess come as a result of their background
in term of social upbringing, their genes, and the culture of the family among others. All this
happens differently in people; therefore, it is essential to understand the values we have
individually. The following are the values I hold very dear to my life, and they help guide me in
every step of life.
Confidence: it is one of the vital values individuals have, and it has a role in each person's life.
When industries and companies hire new employees, they emphasize this value. I hold this value
strongly, and there is no way I will turn my back on the same.
Competence: the value means that one has to be productive as well as effective in his/her duties
to the organization. Every company in the world requires that employees be competent in their
work. The value helps them to compete and achieve their goals.
Honesty: I believe in honesty both to myself and also to others. There is one policy which is
common today, and it is “HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY.”
Respect: I have different values and opinions from other groups and people. However, because
people have their opinions and views, I respect them, regardless of whether they are below and
above me in rank or age.
The qualities we possess affect the kind of work we do in life. Starting from the beginning to the
end of the day, trustworthiness, having regard for others and being certain are the values that
help guide our ways. When we consider our values as necessary, chances are our relationships
and associations will be great (Brown and Lent 2013). My aspiration career wise is becoming a
successful businessman with my own successful business. I also have abilities that I have

acquired in my research and work in life which will help me fulfill my objective. They are as
follows:
Programming Design and Development
With this skill set, I can build applications that can be used in improving the models of the
product lifecycle. I can code, troubleshoot and also test the applications I develop.
Writing Speed
Being a developer requires speed during writing, I can write 60 words in a minute which is
commendable.
Programming Language
I have equipped my arsenal with various languages in programming which broadens my scope
and market. It is easy for me to get a job and achieve my goals in life.
Teamwork
This course is instrumental to my understanding of my team members and ways of working with
them effectively.
Task 2
Capability Audit
Looking and finding a job in the Australian market with a resume alone is challenging. One must
also possess most of the critical requirements of the advertised position to stand out and raise
chances of being selected (Australian Public Service 2012).
Employers value excellent skills of communication among the candidates and staff. The skill can
enhance relationships and networking among the employees and other people in and out of the
organization. According to the Australian Institute of Business (2014), most organizations
collapse because they lack excellent skills in communication. I have excellent communication
skills which have been evident during my university projects. I was able to arrange and run
meetings where questions and issues were discussed. Initially, I had a problem communicating

with clients of different cultural backgrounds; however, I have improved my interpersonal skills,
and I can now do that very well. Richard (2014) is of the view that when one can communicate
with clarity and with precision, then they will succeed. Besides that, Johansahi et al.,.(2011) add
that excellent customer relationships, trust, and loyalty can arise from having interpersonal skills.
In the workplace, having organizational skill and qualities enables one to organize and prioritize
their tasks, and they are evidence or an organized person (Marie 2017). It also helps employees
become effective and achieve their objectives at the workplace. I have worked with GLOBAL
SOLUTIONS which is a company that manufactures cleaning products for households like
dishwashing and floor cleaning detergents. My responsibility was to take orders from customers
through the online portal; therefore, I had to plan my schedule so that I can keep up the pace and
not to lag behind. I handle a lot of customers, answer and attend to their concerns on a daily
basis. They find me very professional and polite and therefore they are always happy with my
attitude as well as my personality. Such experience has given me something of worth that will
help me in the future.
I also work with my cousin who is a freelance web developer, and he studied and graduated in
the same field as mine from the Victoria University. We bid and get projects, and we also review
and divide the tasks to complete them in the given time.
b). I need to work and improve my negotiation skills, and I find myself not confident during
negotiations. In business, the skill is essential in resolving conflicts. I will improve on it by
attending seminars and practicing. Every day I will allocate an hour to practice it and also get
internet help.

ELEVATOR PITCH
My name is Inderpal Singh, a student of Bachelor of Information System in Vitoria University
Sydney. I have more semester to graduating and complete my studies. I pursue this goal because
of the many goals I have in life.
By 2025 I want to become a businessman dealing in poultry. I plan to start small by staring with
5000 broilers and increase the number according to demand. It has been like a family business;
however, I intend to take the company to an international level. I find Australia to be a poultry
hub and the demand for poultry grows day by day which makes me confident that I will succeed.
I have experience working with my father which is the knowledge that starts with the laying of
the egg, hatching until the birds are ready for consumption. Last year I attended a poultry
exhibition in India where we were shown feed crushers and other poultry equipment. We gained
a lot of knowledge in increasing chicken production.
