Career development is long process chosen by an individual to make a successful and
ideal lifestyle. It is developed by putting a lot of efforts in building up self-skills that is utilised in
the path of career (Walker‐Donnelly, Scott and Cawthon, 2019). An individual while developing
their own career must gain knowledge in particular fields that interest them. It must be fully
planned but before that there must be self-analysing their strengths and weakness rather going
through the path that do not interests them or have no idea about the path. The skills and
knowledge must match their abilities to seek out more opportunities in advance and may change
to another as per suitability (McWhirter and McWha-Hermann, 2021). Higher education is part
of career development as it boosts an energy to learn new things in an individual, by this they
could choose their career on the basis of their favoured field and in which they are best at. The
outline of this essay will be further discussed on the importance of career development perusing
higher education for employability ( Lee and Lee, 2018). The essay is based on following topics
of personal branding, enhancing the Curriculum Vitae of their importance and few tips to
enhance these for better employment opportunities. Skills will be assessed by selecting any two
and reflecting the self-experience accordingly by also focusing on how it would be implied in the
career development.
MAIN BODY
In the recent era, the individuals are looking for a well settled life. Today, the students in
the college itself are deciding their goal and according to which they pursue their higher studies.
Higher studies are the major step to reach to the desired goal (Vondracek, Lerner and
Schulenberg, 2019). Another career developing method that involves are two of them which are
personal branding and curriculum vitae.
The personal branding means in creating a special identity of a person that is compared with a
brand. It ensures that to develop a self-skill that can result as the world would start to know you.
The audience are always looking for an extra ordinary individual that as uniqueness among
others as the skills are quite different from others. Branding not only depicts in relation with the
marketing but also mainly focuses on being a different you. Personal branding is a significant
part of in the process of career making as the people when in need of any person, the identity of a
person is something that the recruiter first gets attracted to. The person’s identity tells a lot about

oneself, the overall personality and thereafter the skills and knowledge are being studied. Indeed,
it requires lot of efforts in enhancing those skills especially for the business owners, the
customers when buying the product are also focusing on the owner or look into what kind of skill
they hold (O’Reilly, McMahon and Parker, 2020). It also helps in being a noticeable among the
group as with special abilities the person can cross with the normal ones those who do not have
extra skills or knowledge. The self-branding also leads to obtain new opportunities that allows to
utilise the skills and abilities on the basis of which the career can be successful. When
encountering with the large group of audience, one does not have to specially introduce or prove
the skills but instead the public will believe in whatever is being said. For instance, the people
are more confident in working with them and there is an immense trust of the audience. In
today’s world, it is easy for a people to know each other from any part of the world. So have a
developed personality, the people are more eager to know about the person by screening online.
It can also be enhanced by figuring out the real capacity of oneself, and to evaluate the person
one wants to be, the audience must be defined that means it must be planned what kind of
audience is being targeted, researching about the field one wants to reach, to get advice from the
experts to learn more, a wide network building also asking for more recommendations for rectify
or enhancing from the mistakes and growing the online presence if possible.
The Curriculum Vitae means is a significant tool for any job that provides a proper information
about an individual (Meng-Lewis,et. al., 2022). It is the tool that highlights the skills and
capacities of the candidate that a company decides whether the candidate is fit for the
organisation. If anyone who is looking for the job, the first and foremost thing that needs to be
prepared is curriculum vitae. It is also a graded advantage of people to showcase their extra skill
that a recruiter might be impressed and can select the desired person. The skills must include
where the individual can specify the abilities that is beneficial for the company. it also attracts
the attentions of the employers as they are always looking for new potential individual to hire. It
can be enhanced by following methods like creating an impressive content that attract the
employers that means there must be relevant information that should be entered that employer
can easily find out (Lent, 2020). The language can also enrich the CV as mentioning the active
language makes the resume more concise and much easier for the employer to understand the
candidate. There must be specifically mentioned about the highest qualification that is pursued as

REFLECTION
In this current report, I have chosen the two assessment skill as personal and professional
for which personal branding and curriculum vitae has been selected. According to me these are
the skills that is significant in the bright career development. The individual when focusing on
the personal branding can lead to a recognition by a greater audience. For gaining audience, an
individual can enhance the inbuilt talent in them that can also lead to a wide popularity that can
also make a successful career. The individuals those are not preferring to pursue higher studies
that needs to develop their internal skills and can be implied to better enhancement in the career.
The individuals those pursued the higher studies needs to prepare an efficient resume so that they
could get the job opportunities from the desired companies like ASDA, Unilever and so on.
These developments in the skills and talents of the individuals can both help in building the
career successfully. I think it is better for the people to just not focus on the studies but extra
skills that can dominate the world and can make them stand out from the crowd. The career can
be based on both according to the skills and talents and also by going for the require studies as
per the interest of an individual; to choose their desired path. According to the deep analysis, the
resumes and other skill development has opened a wide range of opportunities in this current for
every youth as they are not pressured to go in one path to pursue their dreams either by studies or
by extra talents like singing or dancing. There are lot of options for the people to choose their
path. By having a good personal and professional skill with an individual can let to showcase the
talents and getting a job as per their desire is the orientation of the success. A person with extra
skills and higher qualifications can mention in their resumes for the better section in the big and
successful companies. So I think an individual must try to enhance the skills to get a better and
successful career by improving their skills and talents and also with studying in higher
professional courses in life.

Today the organisations are also hiring the individuals with high skills and knowledge
that can be used in reaching the targets of the company. In return, people also urge to get into big
companies by developing the required skills and knowledge according to the requirement of
today’s firms. There are few career developing tool like swot analysis, career testing, self-
assessment, researching, personality tests and the process related to the career planning. This
way their further tools also used like personal branding and the curriculum vitae, these are
something that an individual is bound to enhance to develop one’s career. The CV of a person in
the job decides if the person is suitable for the job or not. A wide networking in the field of
career to increase the skills can open a lot of opportunities that can knock at the door of the
candidate. The career for people is something that can change the present lifestyle to the desired
lifestyle, for that they need to enhance their communication skills that are useful for the
employment some are resilience, which means the ability to deal with setbacks and that is
something that every organisation is looking in the present generation. The youth of today’s
world should consider the ned of the society as well according to which they should enhance the
skills as they can be hired according to that.
