Executive Summary
The present report deals with the evaluation of the career plan. I have decided to work as a
sales assistant intern in Woolworth. The report also provides an overview of the career goals
which are short, long and the medium term. Moreover, the most important motivation theory
has also been discussed here.

Introduction
The present portfolio deals with the identification of the career goals and appropriate
organization in which I would like to pursue my employment position. I would like to work
in the retail organization as it want to pursue my career in sales. I would like to work as a
sales assistant for the internship. The organization that I have selected in this case is
Woolworth which is one of the leading supermarket in Australia. The present report has two
different sections like my career identity and goal setting. The report would critically analyse
my position and evaluate my career and shed light on career management and career success.
2.0 My Career
While carrying out my studies on graduation I made certain plans related to my studies and
numbers that I would obtain in the exam. I have planned my learning schedule that would
help me to get the right marks. I have studied in such a manner so that I can get distinction.
There is huge competition in the employment field and hence it is important to obtain the
correct marks so that I can be competitive enough to get the right job. There is huge amount
of competition which implies that the candidates needs to be prepared for the employee
requirements. In graduation, one needs to be prepared for gathering the required information
so that it can be used in employment. Hence, in graduation I have planned to score at least
75% so that I can be competitive enough in the employment field.
After completing the graduation, I have planned for an internship in which I will be working
as a sales assistant. However, later I would like to make improvements in my position. I want
to take up the role of the sales manager and control and regulate the sales of the organization.
I wants to pursue my career in the sales department and create sales plan for the organization.

career. Management of the career implies training of the new skills, undertaking the better
responsibilities, making changes in career either in the same organization or by moving to a
different organization. Career success is directly connected with the goals and objectives to
be set an individual. The process of career development begins with the self-actualization and
self-assessment as per the interest and the capabilities. The interests are then linked with the
current options to make sure that the career is managed according to the needs of the
environment (CrowleyHenry et al. 2018). For attaining success in life, the individuals need
to train him or herself for acquiring the skills that they need for the options or the career
chosen by him or her. For the purpose of attaining the desired competency, it is essential to
perform effectively to attain the goals that have been set.
The findings in the literature section seem to be compatible with my personal experience. In
this case, it can be mentioned that career development is directly proportional to the growth
of the individual and satisfaction and thus it should be effectively managed by the individual
and is not left at the mercy of any individual. However, an important contrast that I have
found in this case is that the experience of the candidates play an essential role in the career
management and the career development process.
I like to work in a retail sector and hence I have selected Woolworth. I would like work as an
intern in this organization. I would like to work as a sales assistant and would like to gather
information and experience on this matter. The experience that I would gather as a sales
assistant would help me to guide me in my future career when I will be fully employed in an
organization. The internship would help me to gather information about the work and would

help me in the process of gathering experience about the sales department in the organization
and the ways in which the sales can be managed. Sales are important part of the business
organization and hence as an aspiring sales manager I would like to gather significant
information from the work.
