Introduction
Background of the Study
From the project title, it can be noted that the primary objective of this research paper
will be to discuss the importance of internalized counselling and career guidance in Emirati
schools for talent based career outcomes, in the perspective of the education system that exists in
the region of the United Arab Emirates (Koshy 2013). It can be noted in this context that there is
a huge requirement research studies on the importance of counselling and career guidance in
educational institutions of the United Arab Emirates.
The proposed study in this paper will focus on the importance of career guidance as well as
counselling in the Emirati schools that will be beneficial for a variety of levels to the future of
this nation (Vally et al 2018). The findings of the proposed study will recommend ways which

implemented system will also help to bridge the gaps in the effectiveness of career guidance for
talent based career outcomes in the schools (Luk-Fong and Lee-Man 2013). The change in the
education system will be managed based on the requirements for shaping the education for future
purposes in the region of this Arab country. Thus, it can be said that the major aim of this
research paper will be to build a new generation mindset who will possess a full understanding of
their career future path based on their qualification and interest. It will also help in providing the
students with opportunities to enter the field of work and learn about the requirements of the
future labour market which corresponds to the scientific education output before entering the
university.
This paper will help to ensure the graduated students from high school are ready and competent
enough to select the fields which they will study in universities and colleges (Hidayat 2016).
The proposed aim of the study along with the objectives should be logical, feasible and
achievable in three years study period.
Progress in providing education system of the schools in the United Arab Emirates
occurred just after the establishment of the federation, and as a result, the first university was set
up in this region. High literacy rates has been achieved in this region but a gap has been
identified in career guidance programs which are not helping the students to improve their
overall experience in the selection of career path for future purposes. Agenda 2021 has been set
to improve the education system in the region of this nation. The education has been made
compulsory above the age of 5 years, and it can be stated that the overall education system is a
four-tier system, but many students do not understand the importance of internalized counselling

and career guidance programs which will help to select the right career path in their future and
start their professional career effectively and efficiently (Jabeen and Rafiuddin 2015).
Research Problem
The main research problem is to have a presence of proper and efficient internalized
career guidance and counseling in the schools of the region of the United Arab Emirates. Proper
infrastructure is required to start the overall career guidance to the graduated students from high
school in order to make them ready and competent enough to select the respective fields
according to their qualification and capability. This will help them to study in universities and
colleges and earn their living by capturing the available opportunities apart from the gained
knowledge and career guidance facilities from the schools to enter the field of work and learn the
requirements of the future labour market. But to make people understand the internalized career
guidance and counseling has been recognized as the major problem in this research paper.
Research Aim
The purpose of this research will be to identify the importance of internalized counselling
and career guidance in Emirati schools for talent based career outcomes. This paper will focus on
the education system that exists in the region of the United Arab Emirates. The main aim will be
to find out the importance of internalized career guidance as well as counseling methods for the
students in the region of the United Arab Emirates, so that they can possess a thorough
understanding of their career future path based this career guidance along with their qualification
and interest, so that they will be able to start their professional career effectively and can start
earning money ethically.

The term guidance refers to the process of directing regulation or conduct. The origin of
the word dates back to the 1530s. Career guidance may be defined as an overall developmental
program made to help individuals in creating and implementing advised educational and
employment choices. In other words, career guidance is the journey through which people grow
and develop themselves to be able to take mature decisions and apply them. It is the act of
showing the way or guiding an individual or even asking for advice. This guidance not only
helps to gain knowledge, skills and information but also assists the concerned person to gather
experience required for his desiring career options and pave the way for the best option.
Throughout their life, an individual benefit financially, socially and emotionally from the correct
decision taken. Students of all ages, right from a very young age till college going students or
even working professionals can benefit from career guidance (McDermott 2017).
In UAE, the Abu Dhabi Education Council have already implemented a career guidance
system for higher education which will help to provide guidance and support talent to the
students. They believe that each one of the students who are pursuing higher studies are capable
enough and has the potential to outshine in a particular field or area. They can do so if the correct
type of guidance is provided to them to help them realize their potential abilities. The council
works closely with several schools, universities and organizations to assist the students in
exploring career options and job interests which will suit best for each of them individually
(Pedersen et al 2015).
They also have partnerships to support students who will continue to choose career paths
in the fields of technology, science, mathematics and engineering. High expertise counsellors are
appointed by the council who can help the individuals to develop, provide help in education and

many students who get confused after completing their graduation or post-grads to choose the

and Johnston 2014).
Importance of Internalized Career Guidance and Counselling
The first and major importance of an internalized counselling and career guidance is
helping a student to find the best way to pursue in higher studies in his or her career. This will

From all the above discussion, it has been seen that questionnaire surveys will be used in
here to recognize the possible outcome, that is, to know the importance of internalized
counseling and career guidance programs in the schools of the United Arab Emirates. But, it will
be hard to find out the students who actually want these career counselling and guidance
programs. It can be noted in this context that all students do not require any kind of internalized

career guidance and counselling programs, and they are competent enough to select the career by
themselves (Daniels and Ratliff 2017).
The collected data from the students may not provide any ethical outcomes, as the
selected sample size of students may not provide ethical answers regarding their qualification
details and the career they want to pursue, which will automatically manipulate the possible
outcome of the ongoing research. The collection method selected for accumulating the data for
this research may also limit the process of reaching out to a possible conclusion, as most of the
schools may not allow to enter their school premises to carry on the survey. The flow of the
research will be hampered and will take a longer time to end the survey (Watson 2013).
Conclusion
From the above analysis, it can be concluded that there is huge importance of internalized
counselling and career guidance and counseling in Emirati schools for talent based career
outcomes, in the region of the United Arab Emirates. It can be noted in this context that there is a
huge requirement of research studies on the importance of counselling and career guidance in
educational institutions of the United Arab Emirates, and a proper survey will help to identify the
amount of importance of the above mentioned programs in the life of the student of the United
Arab Emirates. These programs of internalized career guidance and program, if implemented,
system will help to bridge the gaps in the effectiveness of career guidance for talent based career
outcomes in the schools. The change in the education system will be easy to manage the
requirements for shaping the education for future purposes in the region of this Arab country
(Bilikozen 2015). Thus, it can be said that a full understanding of the career future path of the
students will be possible based on their qualification and interest. It will also help in providing
the students with opportunities to enter the field of work and learn about the requirements of the
