INTRODUCTION
Career planning is an important part of individual's life which help in establishing
personal career objectives and where they want to be in long term professionally. It is self
assessment process which is necessary to understand one's strengths and weaknesses. It involves
setting of action plans to reach out desired position. In this the chosen profession for employment

after graduation is HR in a reputed company. This profile requires core knowledge, skill and
experience to prosper in the chosen field. The basic responsibilities of this job profile is
administrative skills, recruitment and selection, coaching, human resource information system
(HRIS), teamwork and analytical skills (Baillie, 2019). This position is liable to posses key skills
and certifications which is essentials for starting career. This report is made to focus on skills and
knowledge which is required to be HR and what made me motivated to choose this particular
profession.
PERSONAL ANALYSIS
HR is one of the attractive career with its growing opportunity in the field. It is require
to examine the data in a company and using this information as an insights for making important
decisions. This is one of the renowned profile which is highly in demand for many of the
organisations and making predictions with the help of models. It has large number of
opportunities available in the market such as retail, financial institution, employee recruitment
and human resources . It involves various tasks to perform such as preparing of employee
data , environmental analysis and scanning of various factors. Thus, it has varied job
opportunities available for a HR which will assist in developing career and diversifying all the
opportunities in HR field. It is one of the part or segment where a HR can explore and excel in
the industry. The role of HR is quite challenging due to scanning of surroundings and finding
talents which can affect decision making and overall performance in a company. It is require to
be updated with all the happenings taking place in an economy which can affects its employee
recruitment and sourcing process(Briller and Goldmacher, 2020). The job of HR is to analyse the
market and find talent with the help of statistic tools and techniques available in various sourcing
fields. This will help in making close predictions by analysing consistent patterns in a data-
driven economy. The industry is affected due to various factors available in the industry. This
has direct and indirect affect on the business operations and decision making of a company.
Thus, the role of HR has required to use effective tools and techniques which leads to
preparation of models which help in finding fresh and experience talent require in a company
(Briller and Goldmacher, 2020). This help them to track changes within a specific geographical
region due to various dynamic factors.

HR profession demands varied unique skills and knowledge to manage data and regular
task which helps in improving productivity. The following skills and knowledge will help me as
a graduate to get through the role of financial analyst job in a company.
1. Research skills- Financial analyst profile requires data gathering and analysis. Research
is the core aspect for an analyst with regular management of task. It requires extensive
research for analysing data and its interpretation. It helps in gathering information which
is relevant to the problem. Thus, it is one of the important skills for problem solving and
decision making.
2. Rational and analytical thinking- In this thought process should be rational for solving
real world problems in a company. This includes practicality, logical and analytical
thinking, problem solving etc. It is important for solving difficult cases in a business and
to build possible alternatives.
3. Communication and writing skills- It is require to build effective skills for a analyst job
in finance sector. Communication is one of the important skills for leading teams and
managing performances in a company.
4. Statistical skills- In financial analyst job it is require to posses mathematical skills to
solve numerical data and interpret it. This is one of the key skill require as a financial
analyst.
5. Proactive decision making- In this it involves decision making which is futuristic in
nature. This require to have proactive decision making by the expert. It should be quick
and analytical in making effective decisions for solving problem.
6. Leadership skills- Leadership skills are essential for making an impact in the
performance of a team. It involves various approaches for leading effective teams and
guiding them to find solutions. Also, it helps in reaching team goals of a company which

I have my elder brother who is also pursuing HR job in a reputed consultancy and
advisory firm. I get encourage with his profile and position in the company as a senior HR
consultant. He is excellent in his job which provides him job satisfaction and high income
opportunities. With the knowledge of my interest and required skills in the job profile he gave
me advice to strengthen my skills and work on areas which is lacking (Farmaki, 2018).
Following are the strengths and weaknesses in posses which helps me in self assessment.
Strengths- These are the core areas which helps in developing competitive edge in
building career. Following are my strengths which will lead to growth opportunities in HR field-
Analytical and logical skills- I posses good analytical and logical skills with
certification and good scores in the evaluation exam. This help me in approaching
problems and finding various alternatives. This leads to selection of best alternative
available for making good decisions and profits.
Interpersonal skills- It is one of the essential skill which is require to be an effective
HR professional in a company. These are the critical skills must for performing role of
an HR and leading people in a company.
Writing skills- This is one of the important skill for developing plans and publishing
policies for the improvement and development of work culture. The profile require
effective writing skills which can help in inspiring and motivating employees.
Proactive- It is analysing of future possibilities and outcomes which can help them in
assessing and identifying future internal problems in a company. The role of HR is
require to solve conflicts and bring harmony in the work culture. This help them in
maintaining and improving work culture of healthy and collegial leading to increase
productivity and performances(Jiang, 2017).
Weaknesses- These are the areas which needs improvement to excel in the profession as
a HR. Following are the areas which needs to be worked on for personal development:
Networking- It is important for HR professional to develop effective network which
helps in advancing in the career. It involves connecting with HR communities and
associations to develop in the field. It helps in building and associating with leaders in the
field. Also, it helps in updating with current issues and knowledge of essential key skills
in the field.

Time management- HR person must be effective in completing task for managing
people in a company. It is require for running teams and managing large number of
people. It involves performance of varied roles as it is responsible for employee
performance and development of company.
Proficient with technology- The role of HR requires building of payrolls and
performance analysis charts. This require proficiency in utilising technical applications
such as portals, software and ERP etc. This help in maintaining employees records and
accounts which is require to maintain regular task and data analysis (Maclean, 2019).
Career Action Plan
After analysing my strengths and weaknesses for HR role with its key responsibilities and
skills. I have come up with an action plan which will help me in growing and developing in the
HR profession. This involve planning for internship in head office team of leading company in
London. The job role will be an associate for HR team in the company which will help in gaining
practical experience and day to day working. Furthermore, it will enhance my career
opportunities in HR with experience in a reputed company. All the skills required and knowledge
that my job demands will be met with my core interest in the field. My core skills such as
passion for hospitality, management and organisational skills, effective communication, self
confidence and teamwork are of my professional interest. I am passionately looking forward to
get through this job with my personal capabilities and confidence that I have earned with the help
of my HR courses and education in the field (Ruf, 2020). Thus, I consider this job as best
opportunity for developing my career and reaching my professional goals.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that I would like to pursue my professional
career in HR. It belongs to my personal interest which will help me in developing career with
various opportunities. As I posses key skills and knowledge in the field, it will help me in
learning new skills and reaching at my desired position in the field.
