INTRODUCTION
To focus on career is a good thing and eveyone have different career point of view. In order to
build bright career, it is prominent for each and every individual to focus on their academic
studies and with this follow their passion so that they can easily choose their interested area,
where individual want to shape their career. To make my career successful and bright, I have
choosed Marketing field because I am want to work in retail industry. The main purpose to choose
marketing field is that I like to interact with people so that I cam easily make good relationship
with them and also influence then to purchase the goods of company to enhance the sales and
revenue of company. This will aid me to evolve my knowledge and skills and make my career
successful in the field of marketing. For this report, I will discuss about my skills, knowledge and
also experience that is required for the working in marketing field.0

General trends that impact on retail industry
My plan is clear to do job related to marketing field and after successful completion of
my MBA, I have applied and also worked in various small companies in London and I preferred
marketing field because I need this filled experience. To make my career strong, I have always
search better job and position. To get a good job I also searched various online job portal like
indeed, naukari.com so that I can get the job of my interest. Recently, i searched indeed site and I
got information about the new job vacancies in Morrison's organization as a marketing planner
for the team of marketing operations (Donald, Baruch and Ashleigh, 2017).Morrison's comes
under the largest retailer multinational organization in UK due to Massive competition in term of
globalisation , organisation facing intense competition and organisations continuously trying to
get more competitive advantage so that they can imporve their sales and revenue. This is a fact
that evey organisation want to hire high skillsed and talented candidate for the job. As per the
Morrison's, organisation requirements, I analysed that they can give the chance to the frenshers
because they believe that fresh talent can give their best efforts to increase the productivity of the
organisation and besides this Morrison's also focus on those employees who have two to three
year working experience so that it make easily for the organization in smooth working (Gordon
and Schultz, 2020). As an freshers I have believe that Morrison's can give me a good change to
show my abilities because they new that freshers will come with the new idea with full of
creativity that can help to enhance the market value of the organisation and it can help to make

my career more brighter. With the help of secondary sources like government and census report ,
I generalized that from the last few years, the sales and marketing performance of the Morrison's
is not that much good as compared to their rivales like Sainsbury's and Tesco. The main reason
that I evaluated that organisation adopt new technologies and also use some new emergence of
new and latest technology with the motive to run the business successfully so that is the reason
Morrison's plane to hire new and talented marketer who have good knowledge about the
marketing and selling so tagt they can help to shape the technological department of the
organization (Maree, 2019).Moreover, organization recently published a job advertisement post
for the marketing person. Organisation post specific roles and responsibilities that marketing
activities planner can full fill all the requirements. I lean more about this company and also
gather some information from the existing employees about the working environment and
working conditions . Through making some conversation with them I analysed that, there is lots
of work pressure so it's compulsory for the employees to have the good knowledge and skills
related to the latest technologies (Nishiura, 2020).
Skills, Knowledge & experience required
As a marketing activities planner on the department of marketing operations I need to
develop the various skills and also enhances my knowledge so that will help me to smooth
working in the marketing field (Tien and Wang, 2017).To perform the job role of marketing
planner, a person required to focus on their communication skills and also contain good know
about the computer system like MS word, power point, MS- Excel so that it make easily to
perform job roles and responsibilities. Some skills and knowledge required by the marketing
planner of the Morrison's are discussed below-
Communication and negotiation- In order to work effectively and perform all the
required roles and responsibilities, it is essential to have a good communication and
negotiation skills because as a marketing activities planner, these skills are prominent and
also help to deal with the customers and cleints so that I will make easily for me to create
the large network with the help of these skills I can easily performance my job in a best
manner.
Create effective Collaboration with marketing team - This is also considered the most
required skills to perform the job in a best manner. I need to lean to establish good
collaboration with the marketing and operation team members so that I can effectively

coordinat and support them. In Morrison's, lots of employees work together so there is a
need to coordinate with them effectively.
Strong Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills - To perform a job in a best manner, I
need to contain good knowledge about the computer and Microsoft skills. Morrison's
require good computing skills employees who can plan well and also maintain the record
of their marketing team members and also start much telemarketing campaign.
Legal knowledge about telemarketing campaign - To order to become an effective
marketing planner, every individual should know about all the legal consideration and
knowledge so that no-one can create issues in their working.
Evaluation
As an MBA qualified person I am looking forward for good job opportunities that can aid
me to accomplish my dream job and also help me to secure my future in retail industry. After
searching various job in many online potals and sites, at the end I got a good job opportunities
that is suitable for me and full fill my expectations. I am happy to have the best job opportunity
as a marketing activities planner in the Morrison's organisation. In this job , I will need to plan all
the marketing activities that can help to gain more profit advantages as per the future prospects.
The main reason to select this organisation because the market reputation so this will be the good
platform to start my career. I searched all the details and know the roles and responsibilities that
organisation want in marketing candidate and I am very interested in this job. I also have one
year experience in another organization in a same job position that will be considered the plus
point for me in the interview and selection time (Urbanaviciute, Udayar and Rossier,
2019).Now i am searching to work in a big organisation so I got this chance to enhance my
career and make my career bright. I analysed that I have abillity to deal with people and also
influence them to purchase Morrison's products and take advantage of their services so selling
and profit of the organisation will increase. I can also prepare effective plan so I can ensure the
organisation to make more profitability.i have good confidence level because I was appriciated
by my last organisation for my work and I also won various achievements and rewards. I
observed that the main concern of this company is to appoint that candidate whose marketing
skills are very effective so I think I can best fit of this job profile because I also have good
knowledge about technological skills (Vondracek, Lerner and Schulenberg, 2019). I have both
field knowledge marketing and technology so Morrison's will select me and provide me good

incentives. Working in a large organisation is the dream of evey individual and I am getting this
opportunity and I am thankful for this. In this organisation will easily evolve my professional
skills that can aid me in my career development path.
CONCLUSION
As per this report it can be analysed that career development is essential and for the
successful career, a specific career view point play a crucial role. This report discussed about the
various skills and knowledge that is mainly required by the organisation. To gain the good
opportunity, individual need to focus on do some research and also access the online portal and
website and also search most suitable job so that they can work in their interested areas.
Furthermore, this report determined about the required knowledge and abilities that can help to
get a good job in well established organisation and also take job security. This report also
identified specific job profile and also discussed about job roles and responsibilities that is
