INTRODUCTION
In the present report, I am summarizing the career and growth development in the
computer hardware consulting and IT service sector industry. In the report, I am looking fort the
appropriate job opportunities and career development opportunities in different types of
companies. The major focus of my study is the training and development program held by
various IT companies in order to develop the skills and knowledge of their employees. In order to
make an in depth research on these topics, I will approach a range of various company's websites
so as to review and analyse the development opportunities in those companies. In addition, I will
also approach various general websites, magazines, newspapers and other articles based on those
companies, to review numerous career and development programs held by those companies for
their employees.
I have chosen two major companies working in the IT service sector industry namely
Google and IBM (Odabasi and et.al., 2018). Both the companies comes under the list of one of
the major the companies working under IT service sector industry. Being one of leading
companies in the world, working in these companies would definitely be more beneficiary for my
own career development. Further, with the help of training and development program conducted
by these companies for their employees, I would be able learn various new things which would
be helpful for me in my own career growth and development.
Furthermore, I will also approach some websites that helps in gaining jobs in these
companies. With the help of these websites I will gain knowledge about minimum requirement of
the companies to recruit any new employee in the companies. In this order, I would be able to
identify the the required skills that I would need to gain for the purpose of having job in those
companies. Moreover, these websites will also help me in approaching IBM and Google for the
recruitment purpose. Both IBM and Google offers job to fresh graduates and experienced
employees. As I am a graduate in the information technology, I am eligible to get jobs in both the
companies.
In addition, Google conducts variety of career and development programs. They have
employed professionals in the company that are working for providing appropriate training to
each employees as per the requirement of their jobs (Leeds and et.al., 2018). It is an effective
way of providing training to the employees. In this regard, being a candidate of the information
technology field, I will gain an opportunity to improve my skills and knowledge in this field.

employees. In addition, it also conduct both indoor and outdoor training program for its
employees (Eickhoff and et.al., 2018). It helps the employees in gaining the opportunities of the
personalised development of their skills and knowledge. In order to this, if I get the opportunity
of being employed in the IBM, I would be able to develop myself as a IT professional. Moreover,
I would also be able to gain the opportunity of having personalised growth.
Further, these companies have conducted the schemes of the employing more freshers in
the company and provide them training as per their skills and knowledge. This scheme is helpful
for the companies as they become able to create the ability in the employees as per the needs of
the employees. Further, by providing more job opportunities to the freshly graduate person than
the experienced candidates, helps the companies in recruiting candidates in way lower amount of
salaries than the experienced employees along with gaining the benefits of fresh ideas of business
development from them (Willoughby and et.al., 2018). In contrary to this, the recruited
candidates get the opportunities to grow themselves, learn a range of new things. In addition,
developing the career in the most leading companies of the world will definitely enhance their
future career and growth opportunities. In this regard, I would be able to improve my career and
growth opportunities of improving my knowledge of information technology and learning a
range of new things by taking benefits of the effective training and development programs
conducted by the these companies.

While making research over the career growth and development opportunities in the IT
sector companies, first and foremost I located the job requirements in the companies. I
approached a range of websites that provides job opportunities in various companies so as to

determining the vacant job positions in both companies and identifying the minimum
qualifications and skills requirement.

purpose of providing training and development program to each of the employee as per their own
field, skill and knowledge. I think this policy of the IBM improves the efficiency of training and
development program conducted by it (Kumar and et.al., 2018). In this regard, I think, if I get
the opportunity of being an employee of IBM, I would get more and more opportunity to
improve my skills and knowledge of various latest technologies and updates in the information
technology filed.

working of the employees and company in providing training as well.

By differentiating these performances, Google realised that adoption of this scheme helped it in
improving its overall performance. It improved the productivity of working of its employees and

need of providing supervision to its employees.

management of the company. In addition, it also helps the employees in growing various skills
through which they can enhance the number of options to be chosen for growing themselves.

company. Further, as per my views, if I got a chance to get a job in the information technology

companies would help me in improving and enhancing career development and growth
opportunities for me in informational technology field.
CONCLUSION
From the analysis of my above research of companies of information technology industry
i.e. IBM and Google and career and growth opportunities in these companies I can conclude that
to cinduct training and development programn is an essential activity for ewach company. It
helps the business in developing their employees fit for their jobs. Further, it is also important for
the employees as it helps them in improving their own skills and knowledge-base which can help
them in enhancing their number of career options.
Further, with the range of findings over schemes and policies adopted by IBM and
Google, I can conclude that focus of both the companies is to develop their employees in such a
way so that they could gain the maximum benefits from them and enhance the overall
performance of the company. Further, the IBM focuses on enhancing the leadership quality in
each employee so that it could build a large amount of leaders in the company and improve the
workings of overall organisation. On the other hand, Google focuses in providing knowledge
about each tlopic from the base so as to enhance the understanding of employees over each topic
and improve their workings as well.
In this order, I think, both the companies provide equivalent opportunities to an individual
to build up their career options. Working in IBM can help me in building leadership quality in
myself along with understanding numerous things. On the other hand, working in the Google
can help me in developing in depth knowledge about numerous things, with the help of which my
understanding about several topics of information technology can be improved. It can help me in
improving my knowledge and enhancing my career and development opportunities in the
information technology field.

i.e. IBM and Google and career and growth opportunities in these companies I can conclude that
to cinduct training and development programn is an essential activity for ewach company. It
helps the business in developing their employees fit for their jobs. Further, it is also important for
the employees as it helps them in improving their own skills and knowledge-base which can help
them in enhancing their number of career options.
Further, with the range of findings over schemes and policies adopted by IBM and
Google, I can conclude that focus of both the companies is to develop their employees in such a
way so that they could gain the maximum benefits from them and enhance the overall
performance of the company. Further, the IBM focuses on enhancing the leadership quality in
each employee so that it could build a large amount of leaders in the company and improve the
workings of overall organisation. On the other hand, Google focuses in providing knowledge
about each tlopic from the base so as to enhance the understanding of employees over each topic
and improve their workings as well.
In this order, I think, both the companies provide equivalent opportunities to an individual
to build up their career options. Working in IBM can help me in building leadership quality in
myself along with understanding numerous things. On the other hand, working in the Google
can help me in developing in depth knowledge about numerous things, with the help of which my
understanding about several topics of information technology can be improved. It can help me in
improving my knowledge and enhancing my career and development opportunities in the
information technology field.
