employees and the development of their career. As per career management the organization take

organization. Learning of new skills and enhancement of knowledge are covered under
management of career wherein with the employees are provided opportunities and skill are
developed that will lead to the management of the career of them. This means various activities
in relation with the career advancement are carried out by the organization so that development
and growth of the employees would be take place.
Bagdadli and Gianecchini, (2019) also elucidates that with the aspect of career
management the employees will be directed towards the goal of the organization with the
persistence of the required skills. With the implication of the career management the company
and the employer would make the engagement of the worker and the employees towards the

From the view point of Bagdadli and Gianecchini (2019), there are different strategies that
are been utilised by the company to promote career management and planning within the
organisation. Such as, first and foremost steps that has been taken by the scholar is reviewing the
strength, weaknesses, values and motivating factor of the individual. In order to identify what are
key action that could be used to improve the strength of person and overcome its weakness so
that the end objectives can be achieved in limited time frame. Furthermore, company should
invest capital in organising career development program and campaign in which employees can
be encouraged to take participation to learn new skills and knowledge for better future in both
professional and personal career. Therefore, it can be stated that both these are two common
method that are majorly used by firm for career management and planning for getting better
outcome.
According to Greenhaus, Callanan and Godshalk (2018), there are some more initiative or
set of action that could be used by the manager to train, improve career management and career
planning for improvement in skills of employees. Likewise, the talking videos, seminars and
meeting can be used by the manager to provide them opportunity to grow ahead in competitive
market. At the same time the author illustrates that there are majorly four main step that has been
undertaken by the manager for career management to enhance employee’s productivity. Such as
self-assessment, reality check, goal setting and action plan that could be used to finally improve
the skills of the employees. Therefore, company as well as manager needs to focus on career
management and planning process to improve employee’s productivity and profit margin of the
firm as compared to external competitors present in market.
Another author Boskov, Zezova and Serafimova (2018), has also supported that all these
four steps help in effective career planning to manager for betterment of employees as well as
organisation. Likewise, self-assessment opportunity provided to employees will helps them in
knowing the areas in which they need to be improved so that they can get better options. Reality
check helps in evaluating whether actually the individual person lack in specific skills or not so
that necessary steps can be taken to improve the same. In addition to this, goals setting helps
individuals in motivating to continuously take steps to work on their current skills and
knowledge for fruitful results. At last, it can be stated that action plan helps in determining in

advance about the key strategies, action and step that they could taken to achieve the set goals in
limited time frame and cost.
Role of career management and career planning in context of employee’s productivity
As per the views of Wickramasinghe and Premachandra, (2021) career management plays
an important role in relation with the employee’s productivity. This is because with the aspect of
career management the companies provide various opportunities to the employees in relation
with the career enhancement along with growth in the company with due course of promotion.
This will lead to raise the interest of the employees towards the company and make them retain
in the organization. This is further elated with the taking of initiatives and good moves from the
employee’s side which will lead to raise their efficiency and productivity of the employees.
On the other hand, Lartey, (2021) critics that the concept of career planning plays more
important role in raising the employee’s productivity. This is because with the aspect of career
planning the goal of the individual employees would be achieved along with initiating them
towards the direction of the organizational goal. This will lead to raise the interest and retention
of the employees towards the organization which will further lead to raise the productivity of the
employees. In the same way this will lead to make the accomplishment of the goal of the
company along with the individual goal.
On the same note Hänninen, (2020) states that with the equal focus towards the execution of
the concept of the career management and planning the productivity of the employees would be
highly raised. This is because when the employees will find the good career opportunities and
growth along with the meeting of their goal then it will lead to encourage them to take effective
measures and initiatives which will further raised their productivity and efficiency. This shows
that with the focus by the company towards the concerned aspect the productivity of the
employees would raise along with the attainment of the goal of the company.

Research methodology refers to the set of steps in the context of the research that will
lead to the achievement of its main objective. Here all the concerned methods and steps are
determined that will guide and provide the direction towards the research.
Research philosophy:
It refers to the belief of the researcher and the adopted philosophy which would play an
important role in research. It is majorly of two types that may majorly include interpretivism and
positivism. In regard to interpretivism the researcher plays an important role in terms of making
a judgment with respect to the concerned data (Ryan, 2018). Wirth regard to the researcher role
and its role in the research, the data would be able to get analyzed in more detail. However, on
the other hand with respect to the positivism philosophy the facts and figures which are of
scientific inquiry are taken into consideration. In the proposed research the interpretivism
philosophy will be chosen so that the qualitative data in relation with the career planning and
management in relation with the employee’s productivity would be analyzed effectively.

formation of hypothesis and the development of theory. This will lead to have a better analysis of
the qualitative data. On the other hand, under deductive approach the research begins with the

research the non-numeric data will be analyzed. This will lead to have a detailed analysis of the
concerned data. However, with respect to the quantitative research the numeric facts and figures
will be analyzed (Ahmad and et.al., 2019). In the proposed research the qualitative research will

Week-2 Framing Aim and objectives
Week-3 and 4 Conducting literature review
Week-5 and 6 Conducting Research methodology
Week-7 and 8 Data collection
Week-8 and 9 Selection of analysis tool for collecting data
Week-10 Submission
Sampling:
Sampling refers to the statistical process under which the determined number of
observation would be taken from the large number of population. In the proposed research the
simple random sampling will be adopted under which every participant has equal probability of
being selected. Under the proposed research sample of 25 employees of managerial level will be
selected so that the impact of career development opportunities would be determined in relation
with the employee’s productivity.
Data collection:
This is one of the important step under which the data will be collected in relation with
the research. There are usually two sources of data collection that may include the primary and
secondary sources. In primary source the data is collected directly from the source and it is
counted as one of the most authenticate form of the data (Kalu, Unachukwu and Ibiam, 2019).
Document Page
Whereas in case of secondary source the data is already being collected that is further used for
the research. In the proposed research a combination of primary and secondary sources will be
used so that the research will be able to performed in a detailed manner. This will also lead to
make the in-depth analysis in relation with the concerned concept.
Data analysis:
As per this stage the collected data will be analyzed. This assist the research in meeting
its objectives. In the proposed research the data will be analyzed through thematic test under
which various themes will be made in relation with the collected data. This is considered as one
of the major method of data analysis in which the data will be analyzed from the making of

responded which shows that they had given free consent. In the same way the compliance
towards the Data protection act will be made in terms of keeping the information of the
participants as confidential. This will lead to ensure that the research will be performed with the
consideration that no harm and the level of confidentiality will be break while performing the
research.
Reliability and validity:
In order to maintain reliability and validity the information is gathered from the
authenticate sources. In the same way only the copyright articles and journals has chosen with
regard to the secondary research. A reference list is also provided at the end which shows that the
data is being referred and not copied. In order to perform the research to be valid and reliable an
integration of both the primary and secondary sources will be inculcated in the research so that
along with detailed analysis, the reliability of the data would be maintained.
