Q1. Benefits of mentorship
After my internship with an organization sometimes back I realized that there is a
difference between knowledge gained from books and in the classrooms and the application of
the knowledge at the workplace. Learning about the reporting processes, how to deal with
colleagues and bosses, how to easily get promoted are all learned at the workplace through
e erien e under t e su er ision of entors and t eir guidan exp c h p v m h c (Eliason, Eliason, Samide, & Patrick,
2014). At the new workplace, I expect to learn a lot from my mentor including the general
operations of the company, negotiating bureaucratic red tape, and dealing with effectively with
colleagues. Also, watching my mentors in his chores will support my improvement in confidence
and communication skills.
Q2. Professional Career Planning
Attend ACS Events
ACS events provide opportunities for an individual to meet and make valuable
connections with the people who are working in the industry. I will attend ACS events so that I
can meet people who can guide me in the career path I am taking. Also, in ACS events, I am
likely to meet people who are in possession of up-to-date information on the trends in the
industry. The information will help me in planning my career moves.
Gaining Accreditation
In planning my professional career, I will thoroughly scrutinize my field and note all the
required accreditations and work towards satisfying all of them. Accreditations will make me
ready for any opportunity that may arise. Most accreditations require a person to undertake
various courses relevant to the industry, which in the process allows a person to keep up to date
with the current knowledge on the industry (Dowson 2017). Taking all the relevant courses for

accreditation will afford me the skills and knowledge which will make me more productive at the
workplace resulting in promotions and career progression.
