Organizational requirements and motivational needs
For a complete job satisfaction in a working environment, I feel that workforce involving
closely-knit team in order to have an experience of a collective work environment would
foster better work performance, yielding client satisfaction. Easy and comfortable to
approach supervisor is an important organizational requirement, according to me, to promote
employee work satisfaction. Working within ethical standards and environmental ethics is
crucial to achieve better performance and client satisfaction (Šimková and Holzner 2014). I
feel that my qualities of being a workplace politician, at the same time, maintaining
fundamental ethical standards are major organizational requirements.I feel that the workplace
creativity acts as a motivational factor for workers.Stringent policies and guidelines in a
workplace allowed me to work only within strict boundaries and never allowed to gain newer
experience. Thus, my experience as a receptionist at Norwood Hotel has helped me to learn
that fostering creativity through collaborative approach and workplace coordination are
important to allow for expanding oneself through newer learning. Financial, family, social
and intellectual aspects are more valued to me compared to physical, spiritual and community
wellbeing. Career orientation with expansion of lucre is what I seek throughout my career;
job orientation thus indicates a strong motivation for me. My work motivation comes through
setting regular goals and targeting them to achieve within a time limit; this further motivates
me to accomplish more tasks in less time. As an organizational requirement, conflict handling
and resolution through effective strategies favours me a versatility in organizational
performance to collaborate and avoid organizational conflicts.
Individual characteristics and choice of organization
My experiences in banquet catering and Norwood hotel make me a competent worker in both
corporate world as well as high organizational cultures. My organizational flexibility and

culturally diverse nature allow me to fit with perfection in travel and tourism organization,
where tourists from different cultural backgrounds are to be dealt with. I like working and
interacting with different people from all over the world. My potential lies in understanding
cultural sensitivity of different people and wide efficient networking with culturally diverse
people. Often travel and tourism organizations result in conflicts among tourists from diverse
regions. My ability to resolve personal conflicts and applying effective strategies to promote
smooth functioning of the organization workflow serves to contribute the most to this kind of
organization.
Hospitality employment and values and motivational factors
I feel travel and tourism organization would be the best fitting for my career. Travel and
tourism requires continuous travelling to different parts of the world with different people
from all over the globe. These people belong to different cultural background with different
cultural values and customs. Interaction with the culturally diverse population in travel and
tourism requires an understanding and knowledge of such cultural background. Interaction
also involves showing cultural sensitivity while communicating with diverse people (Cook et
al. 2014). I am culturally diverse and like to interact with culturally diverse population
gaining knowledge about their cultural values and learning about their cultural backgrounds. I
enjoy networking with culturally diverse population and learning their communication
language. I have travelled to different states of India and currently I am in Canada; learning
different lifestyles and regional activities have been a wonderful experience. Learning new
culture and new lifestyles and activities of a different place helps to develop cultural
creativity that one can apply in a work environment; I feel this is an important motivational
need to work under travel and tourism organization, where preserving cultural creativity us
the most important to maintain and achieve client satisfaction and ultimately self-expansion
of organizational qualities.

Areas for improvement
Travel and tourism industry demands for effective skills such as leadership and team working
when involved with multiple tourists; meeting their respective needs is an important criterion
to promote customer satisfaction in tourism industry. Communication skills involve a central
focus while interacting with culturally diverse people from all over the world. I would need to
improve my understanding of human relationships while managing a team of tourists.
Management requires effective planning; I would need to improve my planning strategies in
order to meet the individual needs of tourists. Effective knowledge of community resources is
essential in proper management of tourists. I would need to learn more about community
resources to provide efficient management service. Conflict and confusion often occur within
team which need to be resolved on an urgent basis in order to allow friendly bonding between
tourist members to facilitate effective tourism roles. I feel that my presentation skills while
venturing for a tourist spot need to be better researched. I need to develop my leadership
skills to facilitate better management services in tourism industry.
Part 3
As part of my tourism career, looking back at the career life in tourism management, I would
say that I have clearly and successfully accomplished my role as tourism volunteer, guiding
teams of tourists to heritage sites and preserving the prestigious heritage of historical sites. I
would have involved into maintaining sustainable development of economic condition among
community population. Providing economic benefits to tourists serve to expansion of tourism
growth. My volunteering role would include preserving cultural respect for historic customs
and traditions; I would promote education to the tourist regarding community awareness and
maintenance of natural environment thereby respecting and preserving the heritage locations.
I would successfully accomplish my goals of reducing poverty through generating
employment opportunities for many people; this would expand the tourism development as

well as increase the employment sector. Educating the tourists on environmental sustain
ability to promote development imperatives would benefit the tourism industry expansion and
development through minimizing the cumulative impacts of social, cultural and
environmental aspects (Zarzuela et al. 2013). Educational tourism forms an important part of
this industry. This involves both education and learning simultaneously. I would work for
promoting educational tourism such that visiting respective historic places and learning about
their cultures and traditions would develop a better understanding of the heritage of that
location. Educational tourism in turn would generate new economic as well as employment
opportunities for many, with the aim of promoting education for all age groups , thereby
creating social values (Dhar 2015).
