Step - 1 (Idea Formation)
This is the very first step in deciding the topic of the research and
formulating the research aim. Looking at the broad areas of business and
management, the selected areas on which the research can be conducted
is Human Resource Management
Step – 2 (Research Idea)
This is being referred as the process wherein two or more areas of
interest are being selected by the researcher for the purpose of study. In
case of the present work, the researcher has selected two or more areas of
interest of Human Resource Management such as career management,
career planning and career development.
Step – 3 (What actions the researcher might like to do)
This is being referred as the stage which helps in deciding about the
actions that the researcher might like to perform in the study that is
whether it is evaluation, determine, analyse, study or discuss. The
researcher will like to evaluate in the current research purposes.
Step – 4 (Selection of the sector or-sub sector)
This is the stage which helps in identifying the areas, sector or sub-
sectors in which the researcher desires to carry out the study such as
banking, retail, manufacturing etc. After evaluation based on the interest
level of the researcher banking sector is being selected. on the other
hand, specific sector has also been selected by the researcher that is retail
banking.
Step – 5 (Adding industry specific details)
The next and the final step involves adding of industry specific details.
For instance, in the present work the researcher has selected retail
banking sector and thus, will be going to focus on large sized bank of UK
such as Barclay’s bank.
