CAREER REFLECTION 2
Value audit
Personal values contribute to career management and personal relationship with others. The
following values contributed to my success during the undergraduate level.
Persistence – staying focused even when things do not seem to work out. Giving up is not my
thing, I make sure I work harder until I achieve my goals and reach my targets.
Honesty – being sincerer to everyone. I always like telling the truth and being straightforward in
all activities that I do.
Accountability - am always liable for my mistakes. Instead of complaining I usually choose to
manage my strengths and weaknesses.
Respect – I honor people despite their education levels or whichever. I take into account every
opinion without judgments.
Excellence – I love producing my best no matter what it costs me. Usually impressed by the
creativity and innovative ideas because they challenge me to think critically
Importance of values in career management
Consideration of personal values is important to career management because they act as a
reflection of you. Values can be used to define the person you are in real life. They define your
ability to work with others; can determine how you relate to other people and also your levels of
creativity in the performance of your career. Values define personal attitudes when it comes to
different situations in career life. Personal values are crucial elements of decision making as they
assist in deciding where to work and also how to perform your duties. (Anana & Nique).
According to Vigoda-Gadot & Grimland, learners who hold on to their values make better career
decisions that learners who just learn without any values.
In my further studies, am indenting to pursue advanced financial management, taxation,
and auditing. The many hard skills I have acquired during my degree level will help achieve my
educational goals.
The process of auditing - Having acquired all the basic information on the process of auditing.
It will enable me to make sure all the rules and regulations are adhered to during the process.
Financial management - My knowledge of financial management which I have learned through
personal management of finances will guide me in performing the duty of financial management
to the employer who will like my values.
Tax advisor - I will make use of my knowledge in tax to assist people to understand the details
of taxation.

future clients on how they can invest profitably.
Capability audit
According to Lee, Excellent communication skills help to convince employers on the
abilities of the employee to make the company successful. It also determines the ability of the
employer to think critically. My effective communication skills have developed by participating
in college health seminars. Working along with managers of the long rich company has
developed my management skills. The experience of presenting, performing several tasks during
college health seminars have made me learn to communicate effectively. Working along with
managers of long rich has developed me professionally.
Long rich company has developed my organizational skills and administrative skills. My
role at the company was an internal auditor. I had the responsibility of taking care of everything
that happens in the finance department and procurement department to ensure there is no fraud, I
also had to attend other administrative duties. Having all these duties and considering that I was
still in college, I learned how to manage my time properly, strategic planning and ranking tasks
according to their priorities. Balancing studies, social life and work really needs planning, good
administrative and organizational skills. Planners are well organized, efficient and more
productive in all their activities. ( Reitman & Williams pp70 ).
At all levels and activities that have been performing, there has always been the emphasis
of an ability to work part of a team. Being among the executives of the university health care
group, It was necessitated that everyone should belong to one of the groups so as to share
responsibilities easily and enhance discussions of topics to be presented. At the university, it
was also necessary to work in groups for some tasks like writing a business plan, business
proposals and projects. At the long rich company I was in charge of the finance team. A team can
function better than an individual when members have goals and objectives are aligned (Amos &
Klimoski, 2014 pp 60-69)
According to Bunn, customer service skills are pillars which are required to make sure
that clients don’t forget the memories of their experience. I have developed good customer skills
from the experience of working as a customer solutions representative. I have also completed a
certificate 111 in customer contact so am a registered member of customer service institute of
Australia.

My ability to manage projects was proved by the success of my fraud investigation team
at the long rich company. Which I was in charge and it was fruitful because the team was able to
identify several frauds and worked to instill a strong internal control system. I also managed a
project of the university health group which was working jointly with STS healthcare the project
needed the mobilization of people to register with safe care which was a new payment plan for
treatment at the health care. The project was finally a success.
