EMPLOYABILITY
The aim of this paper is to discuss the Short terms goals and long term goals for the
personal development process. The learning from the coursework are also detailed so that the
growth through learning can also be measured. My short term goals include improvement of my
communication skills, developing networking abilities and other factors of personal
development. These goals will enable me to be competent enough in understanding the
importance of becoming more effective communicator as this will help me in the team building,
leadership and in negotiating with the others (Faris 2018). I aim to create a website where I shall
be detailing the factors I want to share with my recruiter and change my job for better options.
Long with these short term goals, my long term goals include getting a promotion in the
company where I will be working. I will grab this promotion within 2 years of placement. I shall
work in this company for 5 to 6 years and become a manager there. It is possible that my
working experience will help me in solving many issues and make me competent enough to
think for my personal brand. I aim to be an entrepreneur by starting a business of my own (Rose
2018). I will be developing my personal brand that will be renowned in the national and
international markets. I will have the needed experience and finally become a PHD holder.
Reflection:
Through the coursework, I have gained knowledge about the necessary aspects of
management and leadership. I have understood the requirements that a company needs from a
professional. The course works have detailed about the employability and requirements of the
recruiters in the company, the recent job market and the values of the employment (Grit 2019).
The employability aspects have also been discussed in the course works in detail so that I find
the key aspects of the employability (Tattum and Tattum 2017). In addition to this, the

development of the career planning is also a part of this understanding of employment. There are
some practical and realistic steps which I need to make to enhance my employability. There are
various ways through which I can stand out of the crowd of the other candidates (Lejeune,
Beausaert and Raemdonck 2018). I have learnt to write the CV, gained knowledge about the
interview techniques and other career management skills.
Through the course works I have also gained the knowledge that I need proper
understanding of the self so that I get the scope to analyze my strength and weaknesses. In case I
do not point out the capabilities and weaknesses, I will never be able to overcome those. The
course works have detailed some exercises like Johari Window that enhance my strengths.
Setting the personal and professional goal is another factor that I have learnt from the course
works. In this regard, I have learnt the importance of planning (Stewart 2016). I am incapable to
understand the value of career planning an the steps. Through the course works, I have gained
the knowledge effectively about the panning part that includes aspire, act, apply and achieve
parts.
Course works have also let me understood that there are some transferable skills and
some those cannot be transferred. There are separate theories mentioned in the course works
that made me realize to value work based learning. The course works also include various
examples of challenges and complexity that enable the people like me to be motivated to
strengthen myself and face any type of issues in the future (Bukharina 2018). Based on the
learning I have learnt to create career plan and divided the SMART objectives to achieve the
long and short term goals. I have undergone some tests in order to measure my motivation level,
personality insight, exclusive strength and innovative qualities. Based on these tests, I have
found some tips that can help me at present as well as in the future to overcome any type of

professional challenges. Therefore it can be conclude that through the course works I have
developed the capability for exploiting opportunities and increase employability (Gould 2017).
This in depth knowledge has effectively increased my employability and motivated me to
develop myself to become an effective manager.
