1. Introduction
Career management comprises of various set of options which an individual can select a the
time of planning its professional career (Ahmed, Ahmed, and Salama, 2021). In order to lead
a successful professional career it is important to plan it and develop the skills which are
essential to get a well paying reputed job. The activities which are being followed by the
individual in order to develop professional skills are considered as personal development.
The written document which is being evaluated by organisations at the time of hiring
candidates, which states the personal information, qualification or education of candidates is
considered as Curriculum Vitae or professional portfolio. This shows the evidence of
personality, experience, capabilities and potential that an individual have with them. The
chosen organisation for preparing this report is Morrisons (Roussy, Barbe, and Raimbault,
2020). This report includes the personal statement, curriculum vitae, SWOT analysis of an
individual, personal skill audit, SMART objectives, short, medium & long term career
objectives. Lastly, the report is ended with the professional development plan.
1.1 Justification
The organisation which I have chosen for preparing this report is Morrisons. I have selected it
because this is fourth largest supermarket chain (Eulerich, and et. al., 2022). They have a
large number of suppliers who are working with them at global level. I will get to learn new
skills & knowledge related to logistics chain management and will get ample of growth
opportunities. They have started it operations in 1899 and till now they are able to open 497
stores with a workforce of 110,000 employees. The company is listed on London Sock
Exchange which enhances its brand value. If I would get the opportunity to work with such
organisation then I will be able to improve my skills. The organisation is having a large
logistics department where I can work an flourish my knowledge and skills. So, if I make
continuous efforts then I could reach at the top positions within the organisation. Also, I will
get the expert advice and training in the organization from which I can work and seek
knowledge. By having large number of employees working in logistics department I will get
to learn form different experienced persons. They will guide me though out my career.

Currently, my aim is to join as a logistic executive because I don't have much experience
through which I can reach at the top most position. Thus, by joining large organisation I will
get to develop those skills which are crucial to achieve my career goals. After working on my
skills and developing them I will get promotion and this is how I will reach at the top position
in logistics department. Thus, I want to join Morrisons as a Logistics Executive and with
spam of time I will be able to secure one of the top position in Logistics department in this
organisation.

2. Personal Statement
I started my career as a Swab collector in February, 2020, when few job opportunities are
available due to rise in situation of Covid – 19 pandemic. I use to collect samples from the
clients and make delivery of the report (Ge, Wu and Zhou, 2021). Here, I have to make sure
that the reports are being delivered safely and on time. So, through this I learned to manage
my time properly so that I never missed my deadlines. Then after working as a Swab
collector with full dedication I joined another organisation as a Van driver. Here, my key
responsibilities are to sort the goods, pick up the order along with picking up the workers.
The workforce or labours which belongs to various cities are being picked up to the locations
where they want to reach. By reaching at this point of time I was quite confident as I am able
to manage my things properly by learning time management skills. To lead as an effective
manager it is required to have skills set of different skills. I feel confident when I am able to
influence my workforce by my effective communication skills. With this, the arrangement for
delivering products are also monitored by me. At the time of performing these activities I
have able to learn how to manage my time properly (Khlopov, 2019). I was also able to
select the best route though which I can make the products deliver and is able to save my
time, efforts and cost. I learned all the routes which are being used by me for travelling. I am
capable to travelling long distances without facing any hurdles. In future, I want to work in
Morrisons as an Logistics Executive. I want to build my career in Logistic department
because I am having around 2 years of experience in same field. I have developed skills such
as communication and time management skills, which are essential to build my career in
Logistics department. I will be able to serve in lot of industries such as Retail, FMCG,
manufacturing, pharmaceuticals or freight by choosing logistics department as my career
opportunity. I will also get the opportunity to travel world wide by building my career in this
field. With the development in the technology, logistics have also taken rapid growth. The

skills such as forecasting, negotiation and problem solving also plays a significant role at the
time of building career as a logistic executive. Thus, I will get the opportunity to develop
such skills by being a logistic executive. By developing forecasting skill I can also design and
plan for supply chain which is a good paying and reputed job. The demand for online
products have raised rapidly due to which the the growth in logistic department have also
taken place. Each and every organisation requires logistics department who is capable for
distributing the goods to its prospective customers. Even the organisations dealing in business
to business model also requires the logistic team. This is how, when I build my career in
logistic department then I will get the ample to opportunities to make growth in my career.
When I will be able to make use for different strategies for picking products and performing
business operations then I can get the top manager position in the organisations. This is how
my previous experience helps me in building my skills which are essential for having bright
future.
