Career preparation as well as work based learning is undertaken as experiences & instruction
which incurs into society or bringing community partners to classroom, for assisting individuals
to improve confidence into making informed choices related to its upcoming employment
objectives. Moreover, this facilitates much required guidance & motivation. As much as they can
desires it to so that the individuals career path which would not likely follow a straight line.
Therefore, career preparation would aids person to stay inspired during all the twists as well as
turns their career path throws to them. The aim of this report is to develop an employability
portfolio.

Based upon my various skills and experiences such as communications skills, problem solving
skills, organisational skills and others, I am seeking for the job opportunities into management

According to my CV, I having various skills and also gained several experiences
throughout my whole life. So, it has been analysed that I am lacking in some skills such as
problem solving skills and communication skills which are the two skills that I need to improve
for my seeking job position that is marketing manager in Amazon.
Reflection
According to my present experiences, I get to know that I have various skills from that few
are seems as my strengths and some are as weaknesses which I required to develop. So, to
understand it much effectively, I adopt the Gibbs reflection model. The particular model was
developed by Graham Gibbs. This inspire me to analyse effectively related to my experiences of
improving skills for obtaining the marketing manager position. By respective model, I can
become competent to think that my learning & experiences in much explained manner that aids
me into skills development. This includes six steps that are discussed below:

 Description: This is the initial reflective model step wherein individuals explains its
experiences. Moreover, as preparing for my career as manager position, this is essential
for me to develop my problem solving and communication skills. As Communication
skills are required for speaking effectively with board variety of individuals whilst
managing effectual eye contacts etc. So, for managerial position the effective
communication skills are crucial to permit others & itself to acknowledge information
faster. Problem solving is the skill which allows individuals to manage the unexpected
circumstances or tough issues at workplace.
 Feelings: This is considered to be th second Gibbs reflective model phase in which aall
individuals represents its feelings and ideas. Within it, individuals show the learning and
experiences. As marketing manager, I would have to improve my communication skills
as it would be helpful in coordinating with my team members. While I am working as
associates it has been seen that I am not much effectively able to communication my
ideas and thought process to my seniors or subordinates.
 Evaluation: This is the third phase of Gibbs reflective model, in which person express its
effective and ineffective experiences into its workplace. It is crucial step wherein I would
understands the various opportunities and challenges that come into my way. In case of
obtaining the management positions, both communication and problem solving skills are
essential to develop. As Communication skills are required for speaking effectively with

 Analysis: I analysed that from my overall experiences both communication as well as

 Conclusion: Conclusion is the also the vital stage of Gibbs reflective cycle model that
aids me in determining that what I have gained from particular circumstances. It also
involves those aspects which might have performed in different way from others. Based
upon the above evaluation and analysis of particular activities this may be concluded that
I would have to improved few skills that would aids me in managing various things at my
workplace. Also, helpful in resolving the several problems and to overcome from the
obstacles effectively that may maximise its own productivity, develop job satisfaction of
it group and motivates innovation into my positions in effective and efficient manner.
 Action Plan: This is the end phase of Gibbs reflective cycle into action plan. Within it, I
would have to improve and build plans related to how would I have to deal with similar
circumstances in future times. The particular plan will aids me to identify what action
required to be considers in upcoming times so that I may perform effectively. For
instance, I would have to develop my appropriate plan for developing my lacking skills
