The Career development includes the action plan for career planning. The Career
development is essential in ensuring that the person is well developed and is able enough to take
up an required job (Dean, et. al., 2019). The career planning helps in identifying the
developmental need to focused on building the skills and abilities. The self reflection in regard to
career development helps in critical analysis of oneself abilities and skills which needs to be
brushed upon for an successful path ahead. The career viewpoint is the roadmap which suggests
the improvement activities needed to be taken upon in order to be more developed and proficient.
This report aim is to take the critical internal and external analysis of self for identification of
skill building and development plan needed to be worked upon for an effective career. The
professional development plan is also made in order to highlight the different skill sets needed to
be present in an Marketing manger in retail industry.

General review of Skills and knowledge
The Marketing manager is the person who develops and implements the marketing and
promotion strategies for the company to help them in order to achieve their goals and objectives.
I have got an opportunity to work with Morrisons company, as marketing manager (Hartung and
Santilli, 2018). I have completed my post graduation in MBA with my specialisation in
marketing and within the time of my college I was an enthusiast to take up my career in
marketing. For this I have taken up various internships in marketing, at time of pursuing my
Masters. This internships provided me the fair picture of corporate world and helped my in
analysing the skills which needed to be developed upon to be more effective in marketing career
ahead. I got to know about the opportunity to work with Morrisons as my part of college
placements. In order to be more effective as an marketing manager I need to develop effective
interpersonal skills, and the art of persuasion needs to be honed upon to persuade the people to
attract towards the brand. Through my last internships I got to know that I am very creative with
my ideas and presentation part. Therefore, I found myself fit for the marketing manger position.

and help the organisation in decision-making. It pinpoint the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities

solution for that to mange all the operations of the organisation. It will help the manager to
understand the level and what are the required changes for organisation. Morrisons is the large
organisation which deals at wider level. This model is also applicable for personal analysis of an
