INTRODUCTION
The development of a career requires particular set of skills and knowledge so that an
individual can get a job that is of great interest. Human resource manager is the position in an
organisation that focuses on recruiting, screening, placing and interviewing workers. These
managers are responsible for handling payroll, employee relations, benefits and training &
development (Aburumman and et. al., 2020). They are responsible for overseeing specialists in
their duties, consulting with executives on strategic planning and linking management of an
organisation with its employees. Retail industry is the industry that majorly focuses on selling
goods and services to customers. Human resource managers hold great importance in the retail
industry because this industry requires skilled and knowledgeable employees and these
employees are recruited through human resource managers (Black and Warhurst, 2019). Human
resource managers recruit candidates in the company by appropriately identifying the vacant job
positions and needs of the organisation. I have selected human resource as my future career
profession within retail industry because it has great scope. In my perspective there are many
reasons that have created my interest towards the profession of human resource. One of the main
reasons of selecting human resource as future profession is continuous interaction with people.
The other significant reason is that it focuses on managing skilled and talented employee in the
organisation (Nejati, Parsa and Farhadirad, 2020).
Hence, profession of HR within retail industry will open different future opportunities for
me. This will increase my knowledge about the different personalities and behaviours of people
so that I can do my work with greater efficiency and effectiveness. The great career in HR will
provide me a chance of developing career according to the changes happening in the
environment (Bagdadli and Gianecchini, 2019). The existing report focuses on carrying out in-
depth information about the skills, experience and knowledge required for the profession of
human resource manager within retail industry. 2 human resource managers are chosen from
Amazon as respondents because they have great knowledge about the profession of human
resource within retail industry. This report covers primary as well as secondary sources for the
collection of reliable and relevant information.

particular place. Globalisation has direct impact over HR profession within retail industry
because it has created pressure for including best employees around the world. It also puts
pressure on the functions of human resource managers for adapting changing organisational
requirements and greater value (Bratton, Bratton and Steele, 2021). With the motive of meeting
objectives and goals of the business, human resource managers take advantages of globalising
business operations such as recruiting candidates who have great knowledge about different
culture and languages and many more.

for advertising vacant positions of the company and this helps human resource managers to
select candidates from different countries, religion and culture. With the help of advance
technologies, human resource managers can easily communicate important information with
employees at right time.
