INTRODUCTION
After getting degree in hotel management course, I have decided to find a job in Hospitality
industry. I am looking to for role of Assistant hotel manager role in the industry. This report
highlights primary and secondary data about different trend which is prevailing in Hospitality
industry and also different skill require by individual to carryout operation of hospitality
industry.
ANALYSIS AND APPLICATION
Secondary Data
Secondary data refers to data that is collected by someone other than the user. Common sources
of secondary data for social science include censuses, information collected by different
magazines, organizational report and different journal related to topic.
As per Kim Schmidgall and Damitio, (2017) technology advancement is one of most
growing trend in hospitality industry. As almost all the organization is adopting more technology
devices in the organization, so that they are able to enhance the customer satisfaction in the
organization. As all customers always demands good amount of technological product to
enhance their experience. This trend will eventually ask the individual in building more
technical skill to carry out different operation of the business. Also it will ask the individual in
having more industry knowledge.
On the other hand Xie, (2019)Highlights that sustainability is another trend which is
prevailing in the market. All customers in the market are becoming more sensitive to different
environment as well as social issue which are prevailing in the market. This will eventually ask
the individual to build different skill related to problem solving in context of environment and
social issue this will eventually help individual in understanding customer need and preference
in better way in the firm.
In the published paper Verma and Chandra, (2016) explains that communication skill is main
skill which will be require to build career in hospitality industry. As in hospitality industry there
are many different customers who used to belong to different culture used to have their different
query. Also Author highlights that Soft skill are another skill which is require as it is very much
important for individual to have very good soft skill as with the help of same in the industry,

type of skill. As 6 respondents each has chosen the option of Communication skill and Problem
solving skill. 7 respondents has gone with the option of organizational skill and remaining 1
respondent has chosen the option of presentation skill. So it has been analysed that there is not
any one opinion of all respondent in the organization. Data collected with the help of secondary
data collection tool has also helped in analysing that communication skill and problem solving

of the business. So it can be interpreted that more than one skill is require by the individual

EVALUATION
Assistant Hotel management is the post which used to attract me in the Hospitality
industry. As different skill set which is possess by me is well suited for that type of role in the
industry. As this role generally requires a leadership, communication and problem solving skill
and I am the one who is very much confident to perform such skill very confidently in an
organization. Also, as I am have degree in hotel management I used to get attracted more toward
same in the market.
CONCLUSION
Above report conclude that there are many different type of skill which need to be
possessed by the individual to pursue their career in hospitality industry. Also report highlights
the different trends which are prevailing in hospitality industry and skill which will require to
sustain that trend in the industry very efficiently.
