INTRODUCTION
The current world is full with such opportunities which provide option to make a bright
and shining career to individuals. For students, it is imperative to choose right career path for
getting success in future period of time. The present report is based on discovering opportunities
for career enhancement and enrichment (Haschenburger and et. al., 2019). In this, I have been
selected marketing as the industry wherein I would like to make my career. Marketing is a broad
function under which several career options are included. I am a graduate student and elated for
making a great career in the field of marketing. Several competencies and skills along with the
recent trends has also been discussed in the following assignment.

General trends:
In current challenging market place, there is new and advance trends are introduced in an
efficient manner. Main aim of such trends is to bring unique and innovative practice in market
place so that individuals within society get a better & quality life. In Marketing field, there is
new, advance, upgraded transformation has been introduced consistently for embarking
innovation and uniqueness in rightful manner. For this purpose, certain recent trends which are
likely to influence marketing domain are mentioned below:
Globalization: Globalization has opened the door of international business by easing out
the restriction over transactions between different countries. Here, it is related with interaction
which takes place between companies, individuals, government of different nations across the
world. Main aim of globalization is to minimize the restrictions over international and inter-
country transactions so that relationships of different countries get improve and strengthen
(Shambaugh, 2019). With ease in business, it is quiet easy to exchange services, products and
resources between different countries for meeting with predefined business purpose.
Technological advancement and enhancement has also been introduced by globalization. In
addition to this, globalization also enlarges the scope of marketing wherein marketers can easily

target not only domestic but international audience as well which is crucial for business
enhancement and enlargement. Now, it is easy for companies to enlarge its market share in
global business setting. Furthermore, it also allows marketers in order to inflate sales and
profitability by offering products & services to international audience. However, globalization
negatively influences small companies because insufficient resources and funds to stay in
competition with large & multination companies. Hence, globalization is an emerging market
trend which has a profound impact over marketing practices.
Technology: Now, technology has become an unbreakable part of business which is
useful in order to embark innovation and bring creativity & uniqueness. Apart from this,
technology is also vital for business enlargement and growth. In marketing use of technical
aspects is important for driving positive outcomes & improving current business performance
significantly. There are various tools applied in business setting for gaining familiarity regarding
needs, preferences, and demands of customers (Earp, 2018). In addition this, traditional
marketing approaches are being replaced with new and advance mechanism. Instead of
newspaper and TV, now promotion is done via digital platforms such as social media, search
engine and so on. All type of organizations irrespective of their size, scope and more are likely to
embark technical practices for promoting and advertising products at wide level. With the
implementation of technology, now, it is easy to gain attention of more number of audiences. So,
technology is something which is update on regular basis and simultaneously has a profound
impact over business setting.
Customer Relationship management: It is a practice which is often applied in
organizations for building and maintaining positive relationships with customers. Main motive of
CRM is to keep customers highly satisfied so that they not only purchase products but also refer
it to others (Hayden, Thompson and Fabian, 2017). Now, customer is considered as the king of
market who possesses the power to influence market trends and practices. CRM is a recent and
updated softwares which is helpful in embarking higher customer satisfaction and loyalty in
business.
The above mentioned information is based in general trends such as Globalization,
technology, CRM and so on. These trends are likely to have a great impact over marketing
profession which needs to follow in order to attain predefined goals and objectives significantly.

revert as per the situation. For making a bright career in marketing domain, one is expected to
have good communication skill which is important in order to communicate necessary
information to customers for the success of marketing campaign.
Interpersonal skill: This skill signifies to understand the view point, thoughts of other
person and respond accordingly. Interpersonal skills make a marketer enable to understand the
needs, requirements, demand and preferences of customers in an efficient manner so that they
can offer products & services accordingly. In addition to this, interpersonal skills play a vital role
in providing the appropriate solution of issues faced by buyers (Hodapp, 2017).
Team work: In organization, individuals are required to work in a team for
accomplishing set goals within stipulated period of time. Marketing is a broad function wherein,
it is required to perform different activities which cannot be done by a single person. To make a
career as a marketer, a person needs to have team work ability which is important in order to
work in a tea of different individuals in collaborative manner. Coordination is helpful for
successful implementation of marketing campaign.
Presentation skills: Being a marketer, one needs to present products & services in front
of customers in such a manner that they easily get attracted. Presentation skills enable an
individual in order to effectively present the product and service for gaining positive response
from customers. Effective presentation puts a positive impact over customers and also plays a
crucial role in improving current level of sales & profitability (Pathardikar, Sahu and Jaiswal,
2016).
IT skills: In current time, technology has become an important part of business wherein
new and advance techniques are embarked in business setting for getting the work done in well
defined manner. For making an enriching career in marketing, it is important to have IT skills for
using different softwares and tools effectively. Knowledge of digital and online techniques help
marketer to perform assigned role in well defined manner.

Technical Skills: Now, marketers are required to have sound technical knowledge and
expertise for applying digital and online ways of promotion in business setting. Technical skills
are imperative and enable marketer to connect with customers in more better and enhanced
manner which further lead the company towards higher competitive advantage.
Consumer Behaviorist: Marketing is a profession which has direct link with needs,
requirements, behavior of customers. A marketer is expected to have adequate knowledge about
consumer personality, behavior and attitude in order to stay in competitive market place for
longer period of time (Lee and Goh, 2016). With this, marketers can offer products & services to
customers which perfectly fit with their requirements. Efficient knowledge of consumer behavior
make is important for performing role of marketer efficiently.
The above paragraphs state that different skill, knowledge and expertise is required for
becoming a good marketer. For making a profound career in marketing, a person needs to
develop above mentioned skills and expertise which will surely help in getting success in future
period of time.
Evaluation
After doing the analysis of current market environment, I will choose the position of
digital marketer which is highly popular nowadays and also comprising a lot of growth
opportunities. In current time, digital marketing has come out as one the widely used ways of
promotion and advertisement. In this, companies are likely to promote their product using online
platform and technologies. Digital marketing will help me in order to create unique staretegies
for success of company. By this, I will be able to prepare and implement creative practices which
further bring enlarge the market share of organization. Digital marketing accumulated a lot of
components like SEO, social media marketing, content marketing and more. By getting started
my professional journey in digital marketing, I will be able to get insights about new techniques
and practices which will surely aid me in order to make a bright and shining career in an efficient
manner. Effective SEO practices will guide me in bringing more traffic at company’s website
whereas social media marketing will make me enable to enrich the current customer base of
organization in significant manner. So, I have been chosen digital marketing as my future career
