INTRODUCTION
Career is defined as a profession that has been initiated for a particular period of time of
the individual life and also with chances for improvement. It also explains about this spectrum
that what an individual do for a living and also about the range which is required into extensive
training and education(Chin and et.al., 2021). The career can be in any kind of profession which
includes doctor, lawyer, carpenter, teacher, hairstylist etc. So at the organisational level to
become successful it is important to choose the right career path. In this report I have taken
marketing profession/industry which has been taken into consideration. The report will cover
analysis about knowledge and skill which is required from the individual at a particular point in
the career. In addition to this , the present report will cover discussion about the trends in general
manner that has collision on the industry or profession as well.
MAIN BODY
Trends in general manner which has collision on the particular industry/profession
There are different trends which will impact the marketing industry or profession at the
professional level. The trends in general manner are explained into the following ways:
Personalisation in product designs and communication will be more prevalent: The
major change is into the context of big data where flexible manufacturing and social
media are learning to offer designs and customised products as well. This is a kind of
trend which has been reaching to growing number of industries which includes health
sector as well(Heidig and et.al., 2018). It has been observed that pharma companies
continue to treat all the patients into similar manner and they have been very soon move
towards personalised medications which is based on their differences such as weight, age
and medical history as well.
Communication at mobile becomes the centre of marketing: In today's period of time,
it has been observed that What's app giving Facebook to its users phone numbers in order
to deliver targeted ads. It has been observed that telemarketing has not gone anywhere, a
text message about the favourite product also seems intrusive as well.
Personalised marketing in data driven form with friendly nature: With support of
data at big level, it has been observed that organisations are learning that what an
individual like or who you are(Jobber and Ellis-Chadwick., 2019).They have made

themselves better in terms of targeting themselves and also communicate into the most
effective manner.
Marketing organisation moving towards digitalisation to integrated teams:
According to changing period of time, it has been observed that mostly organisation are
shifting towards digitalisation and mostly decision are dependent on this factor that to
how to plug the digital component into the complex process that in which manner
consumers make purchasing decisions.
Transparency will dictate brand-customer relationship: In the today's period of time,
businesses are ascertaining that they have to maintain transparency which is given by the
social media. The current modern organisation learning this fact that if companies can't
be remain truthful then they have pay price for it. They not only get fines from higher
authorities but also they have lost the loyalty factor from their customers and business as
well.
There are certain knowledge and skills which is compulsory in order to perform into
effective manner at the organisational level. These skills include communication, creativity and
problem-solving, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, leadership, adaptability and data
analytics as well (Kashif, and Zarkada., 2015). For a marketing person, it is important to have
mastery in terms of business management so that they can convince customers in order to
purchase their products and services into positive manner. The impact of globalisation and
technology is that they can connect to every kind of people in any part of the world. Technology
and globalisation has given the facility to communicate into fast pace manner and can also
exchange their ideas and technical parameters for further growth and development as well.
From the result of interviews it has been observed that different people have their own
different point of views regarding the trends into marketing profession. The major change is in
the aspect of technology and impact of digitalisation totally changes the way of working of
marketing people. In this way, globalisation and impact of technology has totally changes the
industry of marketing and their related people working as well.

There are certain skills, knowledge and expertise which is required in order to work into
the profession of marketing and it is defined into the following manner:

Communication Skills: For a marketing individual, it is important that to have
communication skills so that they can easily interact with customers and can conveniently
convey information into appropriate manner.
Convincing power: It is necessary for a marketing person to have convincing power so
that customers will be ready to purchase their products and services into result oriented manner.
Skills at technical level: The marketing department people ascertain certain level of
technical expertise and experience. The employees of marketing generally uses specified tools,
software, and equipment in order to design, manufacture and distribute materials of marketing as
well(Lanero and et.al., 2016). The marketing people should have basic understanding about the
technology where they work and in which manner it is utilised.
Skills at Creative level: Employees of marketing should have the ability to create
interesting and unique methods to promote the brand and sell the products as well (Salisu and
et.al., 2021). Creative skills basically includes ideas of brainstorming level with graphic
designers and artists, evaluating aesthetic appeal of materials of marketing and planning and
executing promotional activities and events.
Organisational Skills: For a marketing individual it is important that to have this skill
because marketing people have to frequently made the conclusion for assignments at multiple
level and all of this is at different levels of development. There are certain organisational skills
which a marketing employee should have which include coordinating meetings and events,
major projects schedules in strategic manner, supporting team members for finishing the work
within the time.
An employee of marketing should have basic knowledge or expertise into the context of
sales and marketing and also about administration and management as well so that they can
properly work according to the changing market (York and et.al., 2021).These are skills,
knowledge and expertise which are required by the marketing professional.

According to research I have observed that according to changing period of time the
major jobs are in the field of marketing and sales because mostly organisation are shifting
towards digitalisation and the changing way of working also enhances the importance of
marketing people and its field as well. According to my research this field has various trends into
the upcoming period of time so that employees can challenge themselves for this new change
and adapt it into positive manner as well. In this field, I have observed that the growth is very
positive with changing technologies and due to impact of digitalisation the upcoming future has
more inclined towards this field only.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded that career is very important into the context of moving towards the
right path into the future. It has been observed that there are trends in general manner in the field
of marketing and also these trends have changed the total working of marketing industry. It has
been determined that there are certain knowledge and skills which are required by the individual
of a marketing field. It has been observed that these expertise and skills helps the employee to
stand strongly into the market at the professional level. According to changing period of time,
there are lots of changes due to impact of technology and globalisation as well. The digital
technologies not only changes the way of working but also enhances the efficiency level of
organisation into positive manner. So its very important to choose the career of that field where
the effective results can be achieved with changing period of time and also have brighter future
of that particular field.
