INTRODUCTION
Career research is considered as one of the essential aspect which assists person to
understand future career opportunities facilitated into atmosphere of services, experiences and
understanding. Moreover, this is a stage wherein each individual undertakes into its life for
making effective decision as well as obtain various opportunities (Ahonen and et. al., 2020). The
main intent of this report is to show awareness of competencies, knowledge and experiences
needed through graduate student for entering into pre- determined professional areas. The sector
undertaken for this report is Tourism industry. Respective sector is of my keen interest as well as
I am very much interested to be a part of this. Moreover, this is report is about gaining
knowledge related to trends which will has affect upon tourism sector as well as competencies
and knowledge.
Analysis and Application
In this report, primary research is performed through asking some questionnaires related to
tourism sector from 8 friends who are performing within tourism sector, the primary research
evidence is attached into Appendix. Whereas secondary research have been performed with help
of journals and articles.

The sector chosen for this report is tourism sector as well as for determining the
modifications which occurs into respective industry, primary as well as secondary information
have been accumulated. Tourism sector have been formulated immensely into previous decades
but because of present changes incurred because of pandemic have modified the tourism sector
overview for greater extent.
As per the primary research that have been performed, this has been observed that among 4
staff, 2 have lost its jobs because of crisis within tourism sector, it implies that upon average
60% of persons have lost its job. It immense job loss in respective sector have been triggered
because of revenue loss as well as functions. It will directly affects future jobs that researcher is
plan to apply for. Form primary investigation, this have also determined that almost each firm
into tourism sector is struggle to even perform into present situation of market. Also, the
pandemic caused through corona virus have de-motivated individuals for travelling because of
that core functions of respective sector are not performing well (Barthauer and et. al., 2020). For

instance, in which all firms is struggling for operating it takes various months for recovering
even after pandemic get overcome that will affects future jobs with respective sector.
The primary research have facilitated some effective insights as well as based upon them
individuals who still have its jobs into tourism sector possess some particular competencies that
aids them for retaining its jobs within sector, moreover, these competencies incorporates time
management skills into stressful circumstances, innovation as well as strategy administration and
team work. In addition to this, for gaining employment within sector like tourism that have going
through various problems as well as is presently employing some person, this is essential for
possessing whole these proficiency.
Rather findings obtained from primary investigation, there are several results that are also
gathered through secondary research. As per Chung (2020), the essential influential problems
that have affected tourism sector are present scenario that is pandemic which is caused because
of COVID-19 virus. This factor have outcome in 60% reduction into global tourism in year 2020
as well as this have anticipated that this minimisation may be enhanced upto 80% by December
2020. So, the outcomes of secondary data are as same as that are obtained from primary one
therefore, based upon both sources estimate around 60% of staff have lost its job as well as most
of firm is struggling for survival.
In addition to this, globalisation has influenced tourism sector along with jobs into respective
sector. Also, globalisations have developed tourism simple for individuals as well s this has
facilitated the international mobility access. It has enhanced operations as well as revenue within
this sector because of which employment within industry have been reduced. But besides
optimistic, in tourism sector, globalisation is also the cause of terrorism, national security threats
as well s erosion of culture. Therefore, this may be stated that globalisation plays crucial role
when this comes to enhance employment into respective industry (Che-Ahmad, Abdulmalik and
Yusof, 2020)
Technology have also affected tourism sector. Also, it has assisted respective industry to replace
high wages workforce with lower one. moreover, the technological factors has assisted sector in
minimising costs, developing communications as well as facilitating satisfaction to guest through
facilitating them fast as well as convenient reservations. Through undertaking highly influenced
technology into tourism sector, this is crucial to become much aware regarding technology and

having respective competencies would assist them to obtain consumers that will
outcomes in firm’s profit and welfare.
Time management skills: It is undertaken to be the most potential skills that enable
person for managing their time in such manner so that every activities delegated may be
accomplished at stipulated time duration. So, respective competencies is much crucial
into stress period, person who focus upon this competency may even has held
accountable for working into pressure circumstances as well as targeted oriented
atmosphere.
Networking skills: This is also regarded as essential skill for candidates who are
searching jobs within tourism sector. Moreover, this competency assists firm to have
effective operations even during crisis period that is vital skills into current period of
pandemic.
Innovation and strategic management: The innovative skill is considered to be much

Emotional intelligence: Candidates who possess for seeking employment within tourism
sector should has an experience into areas of emotional intelligence so that candidates
could represents its empathy towards clients as well as may able to satisfy them (Goh,
2020).
Evaluation
The job vacancy within tourism sector has been opted that needs undergraduate degree
qualification without any requirement of essential experience. Moreover, respective job
advertisement is attached into Appendix. The main cause besides opting respective job advert is
that in this I am having keen interest. Chosen advertisement job role is for Tour Leader. Also,
recruiter for respective job role is PGL that is undertaken as effective recruiter into tourism
sector. Along with it, this provides me opportunities to travel into various places.
I has undertaken numerous job role as well as among them, I have opted respective profile
as my choices is to become employed into full time employment as well as it facilitates me
chance to be employed full time. Moreover, this job advertisement does not needs any
experience because of that, respective job is considered to be ideal for me.
In addition to this, job role that has been opted for tour leader that is not new or rising job
but this is essential for further proof; respective role needs relocation to any places. Also, there
are some advantages that have persuaded me to opt this job advert (Holtschlag and et. al., 2020).
This role incorporates designated placement coordinator, free transport and others.

after graduate level studies. Moreover, the much essential for person is to choose own interest
