INTRODUCTION
Career viewpoint is process of bringing any individual into the shape of
developing long term career along with checking suitability how long career will go.
Hence, this report will cover same in which would be suggested on what profession an
individual will be pursue and also, in which industry (Pizzorno and et. al., 2015). The
aim of this project is to identify area for a graduation and identify suitable industry, in
which career would be pursues. In this, hospitality industry will be taken and detail
research on job position. This report is based on reflection in context of the 1st person.
ANALYSIS AND APPLICATION
a) General trends:
Hospitality industry has been taken here to pursue long term employment for
graduates. Hotel sector is one of the vital industry, in which growth is leading and
expected to be raised for long duration. In hotel industry, there are several relevant
changes are seen such as rise in scope for customer's, alteration in overall structure,
service area distribution or expansion, which is a call for one to pursues employment
into the hotel sector (Känsälä and et. al., 2015). Due to such diversification, job chances
is wide in range as well as expecting promotion & long term growth for this industry. In
such situations, changes are acts in positive way and will be helpful for other's to
pursues career in their respective field. As structure in hotel industry takes hotel's such
as Hilton hotel is wide and worth more people. In this hospitality organisation,
departmental distribution of structure such as marketing, HR, management etc., has
seen as diversified along with the other's with an increase job opportunity for a wider
basis. In comparison to five year's back, that time hotels were known for poor culture,
bad behaviour and also lack of flexible working. Due to this, less interest of people to go
for employment into hotel has been realised. But as time changed, hotel industry
changed itself along with implementation of free culture, less restriction on employee,
understanding people need or want on frequent basis as well as giving high
remuneration. Due to all these positives, demand for manpower has been automatically
increased and graduate's itself attracted to do work in the hotel.

To work in this industry, various skills or competencies are required such as
interpersonal , communication & people engagement to work effectively or properly.
Hence, skill and action planning is one necessary concept which is required to do
defined job role role in an effective time (Hurtado, 2017). Along with all three skill's,
traits such as personality, behaviour or attitude is also necessary for working into Hilton
hotel. In context of hospitality industry, globalisation or technological change is the
reason for positive changes in this sector.
For example: Adaptation of the technology such as advance check-in and check
out has led acquiring more and more customer along with rising suitability to hiring
more people, so as to deliver services in an effective manner. When talking for
globalisation, Hilton hotel has expand their branches to other cities such as Manchester,
Cardiff etc., which is a call for job role or an opportunities to other's. Due to
globalisation, hospitality industry is expecting long term customer's and with increasing
in customer, more diversification to hotel services or the needs. As, this all information
or trend analysis has been arrived after the complete application of a secondary
research.
b) Skill/ knowledge and experience required
In Hilton hotel, role of the hotel manager will be taken as suitable choice for
myself as a graduation that will be passed from university and existed to work. Before
applying for this role, calls from the professionals bodies has been comes up and also
job advertisement has seen on Email (Baruch, 2015). While, visiting into job fair, some
of the professional people has shown their interest to go into hospitality sector. Thus,
they have guide me in this situation and recommends me to go for hotel management
role which is right or relevant as per my skill or competencies. Every firm expecting
employee's to be unique, mixed of all skills or competencies which are eye catching. For
job role of the hotel manager, various skills such as communication skills, interpersonal
skill and people engagement which is necessary to manages manpower in an
organisation, competency such as right attitude, behaviour or personality is required to
understands of customer queries or problems and solve it in less period of time. Hotel

Using primary research, Hilton hotel and other personnel had revealed that for
being into hotel manager role, its necessary to have personal skills or at-least two area
of a knowledge or expertise (van Ginkel and et. al., 2016). Personal skill are those skills
which is required by an individual to work effectively in its own desired goals or
objectives. Personal skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, flexibility,
dependability, interpersonal (communication, one to one interaction) and motivation are
some six important skill's with help of which job role of job role of a hotel manager would
be done in an effective manner. Also, as a hotel manager, area of knowledge such as
hotel degree or specialised training into the hotel sector is one major concern, in which
focus is on adaptation of a knowledge or information relevant for a job role of hotel
manager. Hilton hotel is a leading hotel which considers information or knowledge of an
individual, so that hotel would get to know about relevancy of the candidate.
EVALUATION
This part of this assessment is based on self-reflection and analysis will carry in
context of the first person. As hospitality industry is mainly full of an employment
opportunities for long duration. In the Hilton hotel, job vacancy of hotel manager has
been realised. This vacancy has been comes into knowledge by checking out job
advertisement released by the Hilton hotel in the newspaper. The above specified job

The job role of the hotel manager is interesting to me, because I have perfection
to work on management and also have capability to takes effective decision making as
parr of this job role. I am passionate about being working in management and
interacting to other people as part of a management. Being passionate about
management has created interest in me to do job role (Mogensen and et. al., 2015). As,
I have completed my higher education in hotel management and done training in some
area. Due to this, my inclined is towards this specific sector on the higher basis. I
mostly prefers this job opportunity, it would helped me to utilises my investment in skills,
knowledge or traits which I gather during my working curriculum. Using personal skills, I
am expecting to do better and effective job role of the hotel manager. Hospitality
industry is my first priority, in which I realised long term growth & learning for me on a
proactive basis. Thus, future development of skills, competencies is proved necessary
to perform this job role effectively.

From an above, it is concluded that career viewpoint is the vital concept, in which
focus is on development of an individual career or tells about what profession that
individual would led into consideration and also job role under that industry. Apart from
