INTRODUCTION
Career research is a procedure which assist an individual to determine the alternative present
for their career growth and development. It help people to identify their interest in particular field
according to their skills and knowledge. The assignment will cover personal analysis that
discusses about the strength and weakness of a person in evidence of the application. A review of
skills, experience and knowledge required is also cover in the report. In addition to this, Career
action plan is developed that involves career associated activities and personal development
activities which is required to be focused. Moreover, there is discussion about skills and
knowledge that is needed to develop for becoming travel agent. By an effective research, I have
identified a job opportunity for me as Travel & Tourism agent. It is determined by me that Travel
and Tourism sector is gaining growth rapidly and I can easily apply my skills and knowledge in
this job. I have identified that to be a good travel agent, communication skill plays an important
role as it assist me to interact with the tourist people in a proper manner. Another skill that is
required is conflict management and time management. It is essential for me as a tourist agent to
handle the conflicts and solve the customer queries rapidly and timely which help me out in
building good relationship and also develop my personality. A travel agent must have the
information regarding current trends in tourism sector so that they can easily conveyance
customers to take their services that positively impact on the development of organisation and on
my personality. It is important for me have knowledge about tourist places along with their
history so that I can share it with tourist or foreigners in an effective manner. I analysed that I
have an expertise in accounts and finance which is important for tourist agent for developing
budgeted packages in order to offer the customers properly and effectively.

Personal analysis
The current skills of me is effective communication skills and conflict which will help me
to convey other people to take services and also assist me to solve the problem in a proper as
well as effective manner. In addition to this, I have good knowledge about historical places and
also I like to visit the tourist places in order to gain an insight about the places. It is analysed by
me that i am good in accounting and also I gained good marks in finance that help a tourist and
travel agent to develop a good travel plan within the budget specified. This skills, expertise and

knowledge will help me to become a good and effective travel agent. In addition to this, it raise
my personality and organisation profitability in which I am working. I attend various seminars
regarding career research and by the assistance of this I analysed that I have skills to be a travel
agent. I take counselling and share my opinions and thoughts to the counsellor along with this I
share my skills and from this I opted as a job opportunity for me is travel and tourism agent.
My strength: One of the major strength of me is effective communication skills as I have the
ability to interact with people in a proper manner. In addition to me, I am a good conveyancer as
I easily convey other people according to me which is essential to have in a travel agent. I have
good knowledge about tourist places as I visited a lot of places that is also important for a travel
agent. I have good knowledge about travel agent role but did not have good knowledge about
travel agency system which is required to gain for a travel agent. Although, I am a well
organised person but I need to focus more on time management skills in order to make it my
strength and perform activities of travel agent in a timely manner that leads to personality
development. The things which I need to more focus in order to develop my personality is
communication skills, interpersonal skills that can be gained by me by attending conferences,
seminars, debate competition and many more.
My weaknesses: It is analysed by me that I cannot perform work in under pressure which is one
of the weaknesses of me. The another weakness is listening skills as sometimes I only put my
topic in front of others without listening to others due to which I failed to maintain relationship
with them. Moreover, I do not have much knowledge about geography which is important for me
to be a good travel agent. The skills which I need to emphasise is listening skills, working under
pressure, language skills, photography skills, first aid skills in order to be a travel agent. I require
to gain knowledge about geography and travel agency system so that I can work effectively and
properly as a travel agent. I can also gain experience in this sector by working as a volunteer in
cross central valley, travel agencies and observe the working of travel agents that will help in
developing my personality as a travel agent. While conducting personal analysis of me I am not
confident that I can develop this but due to my skills and knowledge I started personal analysis
and completed it in a proper manner. I gain confidence and I learnt about various skills that will
surely help me in performing my job as a travel agent. Furthermore, I am going to work or focus
on improving my weaknesses so that I can get an opportunity in the sector in which I am
interested that is as a travel agent.

From the above analysis, it is analysed by me that it is essential to have career research as it
assist in determining the best job opportunity and in a which sector a person is interested.
Personal analysis assist an individual to identify their own strength and weaknesses. Along with
this, it also assist in what skills and knowledge is required for the personal development and how
they can turn their weaknesses into strength. Moreover, career action plan is developed that
involve short term and long term objective along with the time period. It also include SMART
actions that is essential for perform a particular job in a proper manner. I feel confident after the
completion of the project along with this I learnt how to conduct personal analysis and develop
career action plan. The career action plan will help in future to take the job of travel agent after
the completion of my graduation. Moreover, my overall experience was good and I learnt about
different concepts, skills and plans which will help me in performing my job or work in a proper
manner. I also gain knowledge about my strength and weaknesses which is require to be improve
in order to be a good and effective travel agent. Moreover, I also gained knowledge about the
skills needed for me to learn in order to become an agent such as time management, first aid
skills, photography, customer service and many more.
