Scenario 1
Part A: Time Management
I have chosen Scenario 1 that is the caregiving responsibilities for Mrs. Barnes who is 82
years old and is suffering from crippling arthritis problem. My primary task is to prepare an
effective plan for the caregiving service to Mrs. Barnes.
Allotted Time Particular service
8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Helping Mrs. Barnes to take get refreshed in
the morning which will include the morning
bath, then serving her with her breakfast and
the required medicines, then dressing her up
for the rest of the day. While she is served
with her breakfast and the morning
newspaper, I will clean her bedroom the
halls and will complete the laundry work.
In the meantime is require I will make her
appointment ready with the nearby clinic for
the best rheumatologist.
8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Helping Mrs. Barnes to take her morning
shower, then dress her up, will serve her
with the breakfast, medicines and will
complete the cleaning and the laundry
activities.
After this for the rest one hour I will prepare
the lunch and will make the medicines ready

that she will require immediately after her
lunch. I will also spend some time with Mrs.
Barnes by sharing certain thoughtful talks of
life with her so that she does not suffer from
the feeling of the old age isolation (Dreer
et.al 2019).
8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. I will fetch her with light supper for the
dinner. While she takes her dinner I will
make her bedroom ready for the night. After
her dinner is over, I will give her the
medicines as suggested by the
rheumatologist for her arthritis and while
she falls asleep I will read a particular
religious story for her.
Part B: Meal Plan
Mrs. Barnes is a vegetarian. Here is a one day meal plan for her according to food Guide of
Canada.
Breakfast One cup of Green tea, breads along with
nutritious crackers. On any day the green tea
can be replaced with half cup of milk or a
protein shake.
Lunch Half cup of rice or in place of rice on some
days I can also serve her with pasta with

whole grain of cereals mixed with the pasta.
Along with the half cup of rice, there will be
mixed vegetables, cereals rich in proteins
and nutrients (at least three ounces). After
the lunch in the dessert she will be served
with the fat free cheese or on some day’s fat
free yoghurt to complete a nutritious meal
(Savla, Roberto & Blieszner, 2019)
Dinner I will provide her with light supper that can
consist of half cup of rice or bowl of
noodles that will be mixed with vegetables
with high nutritious value. After serving her
with the light supper on four day in a week I
will serve her with sweets to make her
dinner complete.
Snacks In snacks I will provide her with cheese
balls fried wit light oil and on some days
with the cookies of her choice along with
her evening tea.
