EVIDENCE BASED NURSING RESEARCH
Question 1.
Jean Watson’s theory of human caring is the caring model is introduced as an innovative
approach to improving advance nursing care practice (Landsperger et al., 2016). The theory
describes the usefulness of transpersonal practice (McDonnell et al., 2015). According to this
theory, the role of nurses accurately positioned for healing patients and actively engaging in
caring through authentic presence and intentionality nurse are capable to optimize the patient’s
ability to engage in the healing process (Landsperger et al., 2016). This model can be
implemented in the daily practices by showing attentiveness and empathy to the patient and
respect the personal space of the patient (Garg et al., 2018). By using the philosophy of the
theory, the authentic therapeutic communication between patient and nurses can be developed
for physical, emotional and spiritual need of the patient (Landsperger et al., 2016).
Question 2.
Translating research evidence in informed clinical practices provides quality, safe,
effective and efficient patient-centric care (Garg et al., 2018). Therefore, in order to apply the
research in the informed clinical practices support of advanced technology and nursing databases
can be taken for better interventions and better administration of medication (Mustapha, 2016).
The research-based training can be provided to the nurses and implemented in the nursing
courses for applying the research-based evidence in the advanced nursing practices (Mustapha,
2016). Through workshop with the assistance of supervisors and interpersonal skill development
with leadership quality, advanced practice nurses can apply research-based evidence in informed
nursing practices (Landsperger et al., 2016).
