Nonverbal Communication
Non- verbal communication is fundamentals of language away from the words themselves
while telling the importance. The term Non-verbal communication comprises speed, tone,
pitch and most importantly gestures, signals and body language. Few of the studies done by
the researchers suggest that around only 5 percent outcome is produced by the spoken words,
the 45 percent is affected by the inflection, tone and by the other elements of voice. Further
the 50% is affected by the body language, eye contact, signals and etc. (Vandergriff, 2013)
Importance of nonverbal communication in communication
It is already stated that the non-verbal cues can be very different from cultures to culture.
Apart from this on the other hand the there are various studies that have shown repeatedly
that there are around 7 facial expressions that are universal in all the human beings. This
includes anger, disgust, fear and etc. Non- verbal communication is a thing that determines
what is to be done truly being said and the words being spoken. Sometimes in some of the
situations a person can agree with another individual while the actions or facial expressions
might suggest something else. The understanding of the body language can also be very
instrumental as it can help others to accept the other individual’s point of view, there are
various techniques for the same, and one of the techniques is mirroring which helps in easing
the things out. The technique involves subtly mimicking the gestures of other persons.
Mirroring is something that happens in a natural manner, it can happen even when the people
communicate, but the use of this method in a strategic way helps in making the situation
more easy and comfortable when there is a tense situation (Penn, Hanson, Chambers, and
Shriberg, Microsoft Corp, 2014).
Types of Nonverbal Communication
1. Facial expression:

ANALYSIS OF NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION

Aspects of non-verbal communication
1. Physiological Changes
The non-verbal communication is highly linked with emotions, the physiological
reaction are mostly associated to discomfort and anxiety. Things like blushing
sweating and etc. are all the types of giveaways through which one can communicate.
In order to maintain a successful relationship, it is important that an individual should
have a strong speaking skill and also should have a good understanding for the non-
verbal signals that helps in communication. The non-verbal communication is an
emotional thing it is something that happens in the moment and it cannot be faked
2. Haptics
This is a study of tough. Touch is one of the first kinds of non-verbal communication
that all the human beings experience. People who do not experience positive touch in
lives are less healthy both physically and mentally than those people who experience
positive touch. Human beings use touch in order share various moods and relational
values like handshakes and hugs. In the western cultures the touch is something which
is largely used for families (Little, White, Kelly, Everitt, Gashi, Bikker,. and Mercer,
2015)
3. Paralanguage
This is a kind of term that is used in order to describe the various types of vocal
qualities which includes things such as pitch, volume and rhythm. In this it is seen as
to how a person says or express through words which makes up a greater meaning.
The two examples for this are incongruence and Sarcasm. The humour deceits in the
congruency— the paralanguage and facial expression contradict an individual’s
verbal message (Han, Campbell, Jokinen, and Wilcock, 2012)

tell the other individual about certain thing (Mavridis, 2015)
Impact of non-verbal communication on speaking and listening
Non-verbal communication impact the speaking and listening in a lot of various. Many times
a person’s actions say something else while they speak something else. It is always said that
