Question 1
A project could be defined as an activity that has to be performed for the creation of a
unique service or products. A project is also defined as a series of tasks in order to reach up to a
specific outcome. There are certain set of inputs and outputs that would be required for achieving
a certain goal.
The features of a project are:
Scope – It would define the objectives and the topics that would be covered within the
project.
Resource – These could be used for meeting the scope.
Time – This would define the tasks that are to be undertaken.
Quality – It defines the deviation or spread that are allowed during a desired standard.
Risk – It defines the future happening during the definition of project plan and the steps
needed to recover from such situation.

Planning and controlling are considered as integral parts within an organization. Both of
these functionalities reinforce with each other. Each of them drive towards the proper kind of
functioning of the organization. The scope of different activities overlap with each other.
Without a proper form of planning, the controlling activities would stand baseless.
There are different tools and techniques that guide the project managers based on
planning and control over the organization. Some planning tools and techniques used within
project management include PERT, CPM, KANBAN, Gantt Chart and many others. The use of

project management tools would precisely help in the management of projects in an easy and
effective manner.

The different stages undergone during the design of a project of commerce are:
Initiation Phase – This is the first stage of the project. Based on this stage, the project
would be initiated and the major deliverables would be set.
Planning Phase – In this stage, the project solution would be developed further. The
necessary steps for meeting the project objectives would be planned.
Implementation Phase – The plan of the project would be put in motion and the
construction of the project would be performed. In this phase, the progress of the project
would be continuously monitored.
Closing Phase – During the completion phase, the emphasis would be made on release of
deliverables to the clients.

Proper Planning of Project Resources – An experienced project manager would be able
to better plan resources and develop efficient strategy for achieving project goals and
objectives.
Efficient Time Management – The efficient project management would also be stick to
deadlines and deliver the project within the mentioned time-period.
High Quality and Satisfaction – They would also be responsible delivering higher
quality and satisfaction to the clients.
