QUESTION 1
Explain each of the three reasoning errors that sometimes take place when writing a casual
analysis.
The three major errors that take place while writing casual analysis include ignoring
multiple causes, mistaking chronology for causation and confusing causes with effects. When it
comes to the first reasoning error, it should always be remembered that an effect rarely is the
effect of a single cause. Believing the fact that only a single cause is resulting into am effect can
be termed as simplification of the situation. Mistaking chronology for causation is another
reasoning error that is often made by writers during casual analysis. During analysis, just because
one event is followed by another, it should not be assumed that they are arranged
chronologically. Another reasoning error that should to be eradicated in order to ensure an
effective critical analysis includes confusing causes with effects. In order to avoid faulty
assertions, a writer should analyze the evidence carefully before conducting a critical analysis.
QUESTION 2
Explain how writers can use synonyms, essential definitions, and extended definitions to
define unfamiliar terms or concepts to their readers.
When it comes to definitions, three types of definitions, namely, synonyms, essential
definitions as well as extended definitions possess the potential to serve the requirements of the
writer. While the first two mentioned definition does not require more than a word or a sentence,
extended definitions can run through more than one page. Synonyms are used by the writers to
clarify the meaning of an unfamiliar word without the usage of cumbersome explanations. For
instance, a reader who is not familiar to the term” Lissome” can be understood the meaning of

the same by using the synonyms of the term like “nimble” or “lithe”. When it comes to essential
definition, it names the item that is to be defined, places it in a broad category and distinguishes
the same from other items in the same category. For instance, A howdah is a essential definition
which in broad category means a covered seat and its distinguishing features includes it is a seat
for riding on the back of an elephant or a camel. Extended definition comes to play when it
becomes crucial to go beyond essential definition and compose a paragraph. Extended
definitions are used in order to explain the reader an unfamiliar concept in order to make them
understand an unfamiliar term.
Reasons Why Relationships Fail
Failed relationships are considered to be one of the biggest causes of stress and
unhappiness in human life. Establishing as well as maintaining a successful relationship, be it
with parents, children, friends or partners is a highly crucial skill that needs to learn by each and

It is highly crucial to understand that a single factor is not responsible for the failure of
relationship but a good number of factors are associated with the same. One of the most
significant factors that lead to relationship failure is jealousy. The feeling of jealousy takes place
when a fear of separation as well as competition arises in the relationship. If not properly
communicated and understood, jealously of an individual possess the potential to destroy a

exist between real love and emotional attachment. Majority of individuals seeks attention and
presence whenever they develop emotional attachment to someone. Excessive emotional
attachment often leads to excessive dependency and becomes demanding in nature. Majority of
times, excessive emotional attachment is found to be the result of a sense of insecurity. The only
way to deal with this issue is to develop self believe as well as inner confidence from within.
The next vital reason that is found to be contributing to failure of relationship includes
domination. Porter & Birdi, (2018) stated that individual freedom is highly crucial for maintain
an effective relationship and even the closest relationships demand valuing individual freedom.
Issues take place when the freedom of one individual gets dominated by the person he or she is
in relationship with. Larsson Sköld et al., (2018) stated that people often don’t realize their
dominating acts and takes the same in the form of an expectation. The chief effect of prolonged
domination includes conflict and eventual failure of relationship.
Selfishness is another cause that is considered to be the root of relationship issues.
Several times, individuals prone to think of themselves to be the first and foremost. This often
leads to ignoring the requirements of other individuals they are in a relationship with. Toomela et
al., (2019) stated that selfishness in a relationship posses the power to make an individual ego
centric. Ego centric attitude towards loved ones results in detachment and eventual relationship
failure.
When it comes to relationship failure, both lack of time as well as too much time given to
the partner can create issues. It is considered that spending time with the person we love is the
best way to value a relationship. Lack of time for loved ones demonstrates lack of affection for
the same. On the other hand, spending too much time with the partner often leads to intervene

to ensure an effective relationship, it is highly crucial to maintain a healthy balance.
From the above discussion, it can be clearly understood that several factors are responsible for
failure of relationship. In order to maintain an effective relationship, an individual needs to have
the capability to understand the specific issues that are resulting in deterioration of the same.
This step should be followed by taking immediate initiatives to eliminate the issues detected.
