INTRODUCTION
The essay will be discussing two stores “The catbird seat” and “A jury of Her peers’ both
the stories would be evaluated in order to present the similarities they carry and what some key
distinctions or differences they have (Kraska, Brent and Neuman, 2020) The essay is all about
synchronization and differentiation through juxtaposition of the relevant course of actions.
MAIN BODY
The story “the catbird seat” is all about mental state of a person and the way he goes
through a tough conflict of his thoughts. It not only makes severe changes in his ability, but he
starts dreaming or envisioning in day. He assumes that the lady who destroyed his career or has
disrespected him deserve to be killed but suddenly he goes in an imaginary contemplation where
he thinks as such he is in a court and the case is going on for better legitimation to sort out the
case. So the story is all about his mental position.
The second story is about Martha hale who is taken for a crime scene for investigation.
He is supposed to participate in that crime scene. This is entirely a matter of his awareness of the
incident which took place. It is about a jury and his peer. The character shows that they are
looking form some evidence and at the end they do not get it which paves the way for declaring
the culprit innocent. Mr. Martha has presented his views in quite disturbing manner. The
character of Martha is a bit funky the man is messing up while being asked about interrogation.
The story tells a lot about peers and the way they are pondering over the problem.
It would not be fair that the both stories are having same type of conflicts since in the
story of the catbird seat the main character is planning for assassination and goes in some
different personality. Which makes him think different aspects. Even at the end of the story he
feels bad for his antagonist. At the same time, the story “a jury of her peers' tells different aspect
where the crime scene is being observed and some questions are being asked Mr. Martha which
were messed up by him and the story ends up with no such drastic change but due to lack of
evidence the culprit was released and escaped form being punished (Dannemann, 2019)
The biggest similarities was the way characters were presented. A sense of curiousness
comes form them. They both have been quite deeper personalities with their abnormal capacity
of thinking. At the same time, the both characters were very much mysterious and the way they
were acting had been thrilling. So these were some key similarities found in their personalities.

There were some differences too. In case of Mr. Martin he is a psychopath type of man
having some crural desires and striving to fulfil them but in the story of “A jury of her peers” the
main character is not as disturbing as the first one was found. On the other hands, in the fist story
the character feels upset and shows sympathy for his enemy but in the second story there is no
such paradigm shift in the character of second story. As it can also be seen that the character of
first story is going through a severe mental contemplation but in the second case it is all about
peers and their course of actions throughout the scene replication. These were some key
differences found in these stories.
The characterized similarities and distinctions form the above stories signifies that there
is great deepness to expand the understanding of different mankind. The similarities such as
some characters of their behaviour and the both stories were based on criminology gives deeper
insights of the society. At the same time, the differences also tells a lot. The best lesson can be
drowned form the first story which exhibits the paradigm shift in the behaviour of the main
character who earlier planned to kill a woman but at the end of the story confesses the crime and
becomes optimistic.
CONCLUSION
Form the essay above it can be twigged that the both stories were having some
similarities and some distinctions or differences, but they both bring kind of better ability to
ponder over the issues. The stories have presented deeper insights of criminology and the way
human being thought in such circumstances. Different characters were evaluated in the
undertaken stories.
