History of catholic charities helping children
The Catholic Charities was founded by 2 French women who were sisters too. It was first
an orphan age for children and then it grew to be the first charitable institution at the United
States. In the 19th century it was confined to only local area soon it spread to whole of the United
States with the major or the vital role played by the St. Vincent de Paul Society (Leong et
al.,2017). This society was the reason behind the formation of the national conference of catholic
churches. The St. Vincent de Paul society was organized in the year 1845 at St. Louis Missouri
which soon spread all over the city.
The Catholic institution was mainly dedicated to the work related to child care and up
gradation of children who are under privileged. In the 20th century there were more than 800
catholic institutions all over the world who was dealing with problems related to children and
developing them to create a better world (Brown, 2017).
The services provided by the catholic charities
A) Prevention and cure of Disasters
 Whenever there is a disaster happening they provide sufficient help to children
and women by providing cash help, water food stuff, stuff needed for personal
care cleaning material and much other necessities that are generally required to
provide relief to the people (Jenkins, 2014).
 They provide help to disaster survivor to attain a stable position after they go
through disastrous situation.

 Training programs are planned for people prone to disaster they are taught how
they can survive at such situation.
B) Steps for child literacy and education
 They develop the portfolio of student providing those children free schooling
facilities and other education facilities.
 Intensifying and repeating microenterprise programs that support low-income and
underserved clients who are starting their own small businesses, a key building
block for moving vulnerable populations towards a path of self-sufficiency
(Barrueco et al., 2016).
C) Laws and Regulations improving charity
 Catholic Bishops directed 12 state unions to talk about government against neediness
endeavors with nearby Catholic associations.
 Catholic Charities organizations and CCUSA staff conveyed declaration to Congress on
issues of significance to the Catholic Charities service.
 Catholic Charities pushed in help of the Housing through Modernization Act, the

Objective and Goal
The catholic charities main aim is to help struggling people by providing necessary help
to avoid situation that are at times complex. Disaster management programs are the main work

world in all possible help.
