Dawn Stanford Conflict Resolution Proposal.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this proposal is to determine why the proposal has been developed
initially.
This proposal has been developed to raise the issues of conflict resolution between staff
members. There is an issue with the policy and procedures and where the issues of
conflict resolution should be introduced during the initial staff inductions and not when
conflict occurs.
Staff members in conflict resolution situations will require training in this area to
overcome the situation as it was not provided at staff induction and thus staff are not
aware of handling the situation.
INFORMATION RETRIEVED FROM
To form this proposal, the information required was gathered from the following facts.
- Julie wanted to talk to John in relation to the issue she had with him.
- John’s reaction to Julie and her issue with him. John’s aggressive response to Julie’s concerns
was highly aggressive and offended her.
- Julie decided not to approach her team leader or go to higher management due to the fear of
causing problems with her employment and she did not want her team leader looking at her
unnecessarily.

- Silos in the workplace are a team of people that are isolated from each other and other parts of
the company due to a lack of or minimalized inflow of information.

- The policy states that all conflicts in the company must be resolved in a fair manner.
- The HR003 Conflict Resolution Policy Procedures document informs that they should be
reinforced wherever possible. It also informs that employees should be conscientious of the
policy and procedure. Julie was unaware of this policy, which indicates a lack of initial training in
conflict resolution.
SOLUTIONS TO LIMITATIONS
There are solutions to the limitations in the workplace. The limitations are in relation to
silos and training. Therefore, the solutions would revolve around these limitations.
