INTRODUCTION
Communication play significant role in providing information to in effective manner so that
they can get accurate meaning of the message (Annaswamy, Verduzco-Gutierrez and Frieden,
2020). There are different barriers and challenges of effective communication. In this report
different communication barriers has been analysed that prevent people taking the vaccine. Apart
from this, different strategy to overcome communication barriers has been identified.
MAIN BODY
Common challenges and barriers to effective communication
There are different communication barriers and challenges has been identified and it will
lead to have major impact on communication process as well as flow in information. The major
barriers of communication which occur are physical, emotional, information, attitudinal and
cultural barriers. All of these barriers are consider as the main reason why UK people do not
want to take vaccine.
Physical barrier – Physical barriers includes that UK people are not aware about how to
book a vaccine and they consider that vaccine centres are far away and inconvenient to
reach.
Emotional barrier – Emotional barrier consist that people do not have trust of vaccine and
do not want to visit vaccine centre for avoiding contact with people (Ilardo and Speciale,
2020).
Informational barrier – Due to informational barrier people are not much aware regarding
vaccine and there is negative publicity in the media.
Attitudinal barriers – Attitudinal barriers includes that UK people are resistant to changes
and feel that it is more risky to take vaccine.
Cultural barriers – Cultural barrier is also crucial barriers as there are many people of UK
who are not very confident with English language. Most of the information about

vaccines and nurses use only English language. These are the barriers due to which
people do not want to take vaccine.
Effective strategies for overcoming communication barriers.
There are different strategies which is significant for overcoming with the communication
barriers. These strategies will assist government of UK to encourage people to take vaccine as
well as overcome with the issues. These strategies will assist in motivating people to get
vaccinated and overcome communication barriers.
Physical barrier – It is crucial for government to increase number of vaccine centres so
that it is more easy for people to reach.
Emotional barrier – UK government needs to gain trust of people over vaccine by
providing benefits of vaccine.
Informational barrier – Government needs to increase positive publicity of the vaccine in
media. It is essential that right and accurate information is provided to people of UK in
right language so that people correctly understand the message (Mkhize and Ellis, 2020).
Attitudinal barriers – It is essential that government is providing several advantages to
people who are vaccinated as it will lead to motivate other people.
Cultural barriers – Government should provide accurate process for booking vaccine in
different languages so that people can get proper meaning. This will be helpful for
overcome cultural barriers.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that there are several communication barriers and
challenges which lead to have negative impact over communication process. It is essential that
right and accurate strategies are consider in order to overcome these barriers and challenges.
