 The presentation is related to the finalization of the candidate out of
the three selected candidates, who will be further interviewed by the
board of directors and the final hiring will take place.
 I have been appointed to give my reviews and markings based on the
criteria that has been marked and how much the candidates have
scored on the criteria

• Further this presentation will consist of the vision and
mission for the company as requested by Mr Patrick
and a SWOT analysis as he wishes to open up a
second operation in Belfast
• Apart from that the challenges that the new CEO
might face in his/her new job and also the outline
planning for the period of their three working years
will be prepared and demonstrated in this
presentation.
Executive Summary

Key criteria
 The CEO of the company is supposed to be someone who has a huge
experience in terms of managing and handling the team since he/she
is not only going to manage a single team. However, he or she should
have the capability to manage teams of team.
 Communications skill should be very strong to clearly communicate
his ideas among the team members
 Education is not a bar since the owner of this company was a simple
English graduate. However real life experiences of handling pressure
is a must . A degree of graduation or post graduation or diploma is
fair enough
 Should be traditional as well as should posses will to calculate the
risks

Key criteria
 Loyalty. Since the owner and the board of directors aren’t going to be
present and therefore they need someone who can look up to the
business like their own.
 Good relation building capability as this company has expanded with
their services and relation building capabilities.
 Adaptable and open to new challenges and changes.
 Foresightedness is one of the essential criteria that is required for
being more adaptable
 Humble personality

Quality which is not acceptable
 The quality of not remaining calm under the tough situation are not at
all acceptable
 Managing team and holding the position of CEO is not a joke and this
company is somewhere deep down hold the special place for their
principles of loyalty. Apart from that they want a reliable partner upon
whom they can trust and put their baby which is their business into
the hands of the said person and therefore. Dishonesty will not take
the person anywhere and they don’t make a good CEO.

also come up and described her to be friendly as well as ruthless
when necessary.

interviewing and asking him certain questions

professional with a sporty nature

 When her senior manager came to know that
she will be leaving the company he felt really
bad and had spoken related to her achievements
and her intelligence and remarked her saying
that she is the best mind for everyone.
 Her quest for new learning and successfully
addition of new opportunities in her previous
company definitely adds advantage for her in
this ne role as she completely matches us with

Since Patrick wanted to change the version of the
company into contemporary style. The mission and
vision has also re-structured keeping in mind the old
basic values. However Patrick also wanted to have a
Green week for their book shop based in Galway and
therefore wanted some ideas on this. Apart from this
the suggestions will also be collected by the
candidates so as to see what they consider about this
and what are their thoughts are they innovative
enough or not

The candidates responded –
 Martin lana doesn’t seem to have much idea about neither his answer
carries any innovation.
 Claire seemed to have been more interested into the idea and
therefore she replied that. The themed green week can hit a separate
set of people as there are many people who gets fascinated by the
idea of sustainability. A huge set of book collection based on that,
modern and contemporary can be displayed. The ambience with little
pots of saplings can be decorated around

 Marian also seemed to have ideas when she has been
asked the similar question to which she replied that it
seemed to be a nice and innovative concept. However, it
doesn’t seem too fascinating when it comes to a book
shop. Since people are more inclined for the different
