Chapter 7 Division 8 Prohibition, authorisation and restricted
use – Sec 382 Using, handling and storing restricted
hazardous chemicals
of the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011 (Hazardous
Chemicals) states the followings:
1. A person conducting a business or undertaking at a
workplace must not use, handle or store, or direct or
allow a worker at the workplace to use, handle or store,
a restricted hazardous chemical referred to in an item
in schedule 10, table 10.3, column 2 for a purpose
referred to in column 3 for the item.
2. A person conducting a business or undertaking at a
workplace must not use, handle or store, or direct or
allow a worker at the workplace to use, handle or store,
polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) unless the use,
handling or storage is—
(a) in relation to existing electrical equipment or
construction material; or
(b) for disposal purposes; or
(c) for genuine research and analysis.
It describes the usage and storage of hazardous chemicals at
