This report addresses the critical issue of cervical cancer in Romania, which had the highest incidence and mortality rates in Europe in 2012, with a specific focus on the Roma ethnic women. It outlines the challenges, including health inequalities and discrimination, and proposes a campaign to promote the benefits of smear tests and HPV vaccines. The campaign aims to increase awareness and provide accessible healthcare services, particularly in rural areas, using a mobile van. The report emphasizes the application of the social model of health and health belief model to understand and address the barriers to participation in screening programs.
