INTRODUCTION
Learning development is crucial for the students as with the help of this they can develop
various skills that can helps them in achieving their educational goals (August, and Shanahan,
2017). To be successful professionally the focus of the students must be on the developing
various academic practices in their higher education as this facilitates them to analyse the
situations effectively. In this essay the need of developing as a learner and the ways with which it
can be done are discussed. Apart from this various challenges and expectations from the
university courses are discussed.
MAIN BODY
How and why you have developed as a learner during this module
With the growing needs of the business, the students must develop various skills, abilities
and competence so that they can deal with such needs. I realised the need of developing me as a
learner as to cope with the level competition at the professional level it is important for me to
have various skills. In the higher education, by developing myself as a learner I could deepen my
understanding on various topic as here the professors gives insights of the use of various topics
practically for dealing with issues effectively (Notgrass and Pettinelli, 2015). Further it has
impact on my ability to present myself as by becoming learner I had to give presentations,
analyse various case studies, need to interact more with people and many more. All these
enabled me in developing confidence which has also groomed my personality and this is very
important for a person to be successful. It also offers an opportunity to me for the experiential
learning as in universities learning through doing is focussed upon. This developed a habit of
thinking logically for each and every aspect which has influence of the ability of decision
making.
For becoming learner I had to consider various things which contributed in improving my
ability to grab things in a much effective manner (Gutwill, Hido and Sindorf, 2015). The most
important was that i had to become organised as with this I could manage preparation of all my
notes, completion of assignments etc. on time. I prepared separate folders in my personal
computer which enabled me in easily accessing to them. For attending the sessions I had to be on
time and for this I had to develop a habit of punctuality. This made me learn that if I get late then
it has impact on the concentration level of others and this is beneficial for a profession as their

we have to set examples before others. Apart from this I identified various challenges which I
will have to face and accordingly I set various goals that I have to achieve. I formulated various
plans that can support me in achieving these goals. For this I had to go through various sources
of knowledge such as books, journals, research papers etc. as with the help my level of this I can
expand my learning and ability to analyse the situations (Dörnyei, 2014).
Further reflections on how to approach future challenges and expectations of a university course
Being a student of a university it is important to identify various challenges and expectations
from the course which they are availing as on the basis of this only they can plan their actions.
When I started my university course I identified my expectations which were based on my past
experiences and future needs. Some of such expectations include better opportunity to express
my opinions, thoughts etc. In addition to this I expected all the students are treated equally and
fairly, their evaluation must be done strategically so that I can get to know my actual
performance and the area which I need to improve on (Smith and Wong, 2016). Apart from this I
expect that the faculties in the University support in various aspects such in academic activities
which includes notes formation, undertaking researches and many more. In extracurricular
activities the faculties are expected to support in making necessary arrangement of the resources
required such as funds and permit to take part in other organisations.
After completion of my education I had to work and this will lead to various challenges and
opportunities. Such opportunities can be availed by me if I can deal with such challenges. The
ability of meeting up with these challenges can be developed at university level as such
challenges include significant level of knowledge, effective communication skills, confidence
level and many more (Christin, 2016). All such skills and abilities can be developed efficiently
by taking part in various activities that are organised at university level as in this I had to
communicate with various people. While undertaking university course various things that I have
to keep in mind includes that time to time reforms in the pattern of learning must be done so that
prevailing challenges can be implemented within the course. For determining the level of
competition among the students my faculties suggested that we must to go through the material
of others as with this we can analyse their perception which is important for managing the future
challenges. The another approach can be focussing upon the important content that means that
when I am learning management course then my focus must be on each and every aspect of
management in an organisation rather than impact of other factors on the organisation. This lead

to focus upon learning content outside the organisation through case studies as this enabled me in
understanding actual scenario within the organisation. With the help of this I get to know greater
and in depth learning of the concept which will enable me in managing the future challenges
with ability of effective decision making.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above report that it is important for the student to develop various
skills so that they can overcome various challenges that they have to face in future. For this they
must develop various skills in them which make them efficient enough to analyse the things and
take better decisions. It will ensure the students to be successful in their professional career as
they posses various competitive capabilities.
